This video brings back a lot of memories. Man, when this came out I was playing in college. Every baseball player in the world attempted this shit, nobody could make it look this smooth.

This and another video of a similar time frame got me hooked learning that trick. Managed to do it in the end but was never as smooth or as fast as this guy. Can't believe this video was uploaded 13 years ago as of 2022.

That's cool and real. I just did it within 10 trys. All you do is when you are about at half of your swing where your arms are almost fully extended, snap your bottom hand back ( toward catcher to help direction) and the top hand a little forward to help guide AND at the same time keep following through with your swing and be prepared to catch the bat right after half of your swing. Remember snap the wrists a little fast and hard to make it look better. AND there you go kids

-.- as he begins the swing the end of the bat has the most speed and energy going foward. Mid way he cuts back his arms moving the bottom base of the bat in the opposite direction. The energy the end of the bat already is used for the spin it spins until he puts his hands back on it

I've seen similar things done with other items, but I like how he makes it flow with the swing, which makes it even better! It's probably not smart for a professional to do, because the risk of injury could ruin your career.

The weight of the hitting side of the bat is much greater than where you are holding it, so most of the energy is stored near the far end when you swing it. Due to that you can create a pivoting point around the center of mass by moving the handle backwards while the bat is swinging forwards. There is a sweet-spot in between the striking and gripping ends that doesn't move off it's trajectory and the rest of the bat acts just like 2 planets orbiting around each other.

Physics is a helluva drug!

@RobtheBig play that requires the whole team is when the ball is hit into left center. Everyone has to know where to back up, where to throw, who is on what base and when to throw. If you think about it, its almost the same as football. Even though its backing up a throw isn't a fun job, its just as important as throwing and catching. Protecting the QB for 5 seconds isn't fun and no body can name more then 15 lineman, but its important.

@MSU012 tell me!!!! whats the stategy is in baseball then..what else besides putting in the right pitcher/batter and trying to catch/hit the ball? and yes there is only one way to score in baseball, getting to home base there is no other way.......

@Mr3003709 because this video is very cool. every single time in baseball its the same exact thing, they throw the ball and you hit the ball and someone gets the ball, over and over again. sure in football there always trying to get a touchdown, but theres all sorts of plays they can do, and how they do it is always different. defense and offense can change anytime. throwing across a field trying to get it to the reciever or trying to catch a ball without getting tackled, its really exciting.

The way the bat spins is that,as he swings he uses his back hand to spin the bat,and the front hand to move the bat upward so it does not fall. ✌️

Im a editor and have done lots of visual effects and compositing. If it was fake it was pretty elaborate for such a simple bat spin. I know there are great visual effects today but you see it on film. DV composting is like painting "monet" on a tiny canvas the size of a post it note.

If you look at his wrist movement as long as he has his hands in the right place the bat basically hits his palm and forces his hand closed, it's all about timing

All you have to do is to put more spin on the handle, and the bat will pivot. Sorry if you cant understand, its better to take it in action than just explaining.

Actually it does, it drys the moister on our hands allowing us to get a better grip on anything. This is why power lifters and gymnasts use chalk on their hands it reduces the chances of having their hands slip when its not wanted.
