@@johnnickfanaccount3492 Yet ED has always been a problem to salad. Currently its 3x Baelynx, 3x Wolf, 2x Stalio + the cyberse pack. You only get 2 slots for other stuff, usually Bagooska and some other rank 4 like Dweller. Add 2x Raging Phoenix and there's no space for anything else, much less a subpar Synchro. Building the ED will get complicated, Baronne seems worth it, but it'll have to compromise something.
@@nightmagister uh... Did you just say 2x stallio???? You only ever play 1 stallio in salamangreat. Also you just straight up don't play raging phoenix, you forgot to include heatleo and heatsoul in here, and you only play 1 toolbox r4... Also baronne is absolutely not worth it
@@ascriptmaster I enjoy playing full-salad on MD with Pyro Phoenix and immediatly though of that. It fixes the problem of your opponent have to be playing a link based deck for it to work. It'll be funny, but definetly not good.
It is such a shame that these cards aren't up to par for 2023. Decks like VS and even R-ACE play as Salamangreat used to, but better, even with this support wave.
I don't like the level 3 to much, but I like how the level 5 can either make a Baronne or a Rank 4 with your 4s. The Link 4 can search Rage to pop 4 amd in general I like boss monsters that just keep coming back, but the Extra Deck is already pretty tight, so I don't know if playing 2 of it is worthy
they designed themselves into a corner with all the latest generic cyberse support. cyberse is becoming one monogenized monstrosity like pendulum. to differentiate an archetype from the meta pile you need to give them restrictions and/or a completely different gameplan. like abyss actors or now salamangreat
@@frankunodostres473 banning accescode makes no sense. you can't ban cards just because you don't like them cyberse share some cards but they all have different strategies
@@jiek9017 And you know what card being banned could give decks (not just cyberse) more differentiation in their strategies? Accesscode. If you consider it on a larger scale every modern deck aims to create a situation where accesscode or some generic otk machine comes in to clear the game. Tri-brigade, mathmech (a deck with in archetype bosses for otking that they forgo), salamangreat, and definitely more all play this aggressively because of cards like access/borrelsword. It's not just a card I dislike, it's a card that defines how ygo is played now and has merit to be banned
Hhmm, first thing I think of giving salamangreat synchro access is fire fist horse prince actually! Can summon any level 3 fire out of deck could be something worth messing with

I don't know in Salamangreat but in most FIRE decks Burst Gryphon is really good!! It's not worth it right now because of Hiita restriction but, just to have an example, tecnically with Volcanic Rocket + Revolution Synchron you can now do this. Ns rocket search, ss with revolution synchron lavalval salamander draw 2, discard 2 then go into Burst Gryphon ss back rocket and search again. You can then go into a fire rank 4 but there are not a good one i believe
Wheesel allows you to summon something to then bounce with Miragestallio's effect while also getting a draw. (it also allows you to gozen/rivalry lock but we dont talk about that) Teeger is interesting but probably not great, in hands that open like 4 names you can make baronne under 5 summons and just not make stallio i guess Link 4 is good, can climb with Splash Mage into Heatsoul into this with any 3 mats and also gives you a draw. I think this is likely the new default endboard - can send Roar with Gazelle and search Rage to end on both traps. Synchro doesn't really have any great applications imo Quick-play is actually pretty cool - it kinda pays for itself to add itself back to hand, since you can hard relink Wolf, summon back Wolf, add it back, then go into the link 4. Unfortunately it's only a disruption if you end on Heatsoul which seems a lot rarer now. trap is bad
@@RickKong1998 3 isn’t bad but 2 is ideal imo, you can search gazelle with 3 circles if you really need to, other than that it will simply take up too much main deck space if you run 3 gazelle
Teeger seems amazing imo and link 4 are good. You search rage and that is a pop 4/revive 4. Teeger discards and you already want cards in salad in the graveyard and gives more extension. The tuners don’t lock you into fire monsters so you can make any synchro in the game. Wheesel being a 3 gives you access to fire fist horse prince that summons any level 3 from the deck. Teeger let’s you do all your plays without using your normal summon which I think is massively undervalued.
Interesting the Salamangreat Synchro is a Gryphon (reminds me of Windy using avian monsters like Griffins, as well as being defeated by the Synchro Monster of Revolver). And I never noticed this until the reveal of Burst Gryphon, but a lot of the Salamangreat monsters that are Special Summoned are somewhat creatures of flight: Burst Gryphon, Emerald Eagle, Blaze Dragon (Miragestallio has flame wings & Violet Chimera has somewhat of flaming wing-blades;), and Pyro & Raging Phoenix {and Heatleo sorta has like wing-like armor}
Thisis so rqndom youre just nitpicking monsters. Wolf, Bale, Spinny, Jaguqr, Gqzelle, Meer, Mole etc etc are all normal animals. Its just thqt bqsicqlly every animal is represented so youll get some flying ones
Spinny normal, bale into chain gazelle (dump roar), revive spinny into splash mage (effect) into heatsoul draw 1, into phoenix double link grab rage and set roar into nib?
Im not sure with that Synchro Monster yet... im not that big into Fire Monsters but is there a way to put a Fire Monster from Deck to your GY and if is that Route searchable... Im thinking of an small Package with that you can search a card that puts a Fire Monster from Deck to GY. You put Barrierstatue of Inferno to the GY and revive it with the Synchromonster or Samamangreat Charge... I mean Floowandereze was very successful with the Wind one maybe Salad could go that Route with the Fire Statue...
Using Salamangreat wheesel is the set up for fusion of fire to Summon violet chimera and a good use for burning draw if you give your opponent a link monster. Am I the only person that sees the potential of the new Salamangreats?
Burning Draw only works if they control more cards than you do. You're not the only one who has thought of these things, they just aren't very good compared to what Salad can already do.
I think the trap card could have had "If you control a Salamangreat Fusion/Syncro/XYZs/Link monster that was summoned using that monster as its entire material, you can play this card from the hand" and been a good archetype specific "Reborn" as well as "finisher" using it to swing with that 2800 ATK (bumped up to 5600 ATK) new link-4. Instead, it's "maybe a 1-of I can pitch into the GY for the 2nd effect later" card...
The problems here are two fold. The pay offs (link and Synchro) are underpower and lack protection. The trap sucks. The MD monsters are quite alright, but teeger is useless with out a better pay off. The other problem is that SG players want it to be Mathmechs instead of what the deck currently is. I really wish the the ED monsters were better.
i disagree. it cant get any better than being able to pop 4 cards or effectively have soul charge in your corner. i agree that it lacks protection, but i think that is what the revive effect is for. you can just summon this guy back. and if you have a 3rd copy, you are guarantied a follow-up next turn.

@@jeremiahriley663 The revive effect does not do anything against nib though. You do have the option to make baronne or Savage now, but I think the consistency of that option depends on the last main deck monster
You can get a barrier statue or any other unfair guy from your GY with Burst Gryphon, if you can consistently mill it, it is a generic reborn on your opponents standby. Is this fun though?? Probably not!
I was hoping salad would drop the gimmick of having to play two copies of the same card to use all there effects but i guess not. Its like almost Gemini monsters having to summon twice.
Just let us relink more then once or not lock us into fire, cyberse, and/or salamangreats. It doesn't seem that broken when compared to the decks in the meta rn, or in the past year or two.
this is just not true. plenty of the newer and more powerful decks can do a lot more than just negate. a lot of the new decks at least have some form of removal. flipping cards face down has also become a lot more popular as of late because of decks like kashtira and spright. the fact that the new link 4 gives salamangreat the ability to pop up to 4 cards as well as set an omni negate mid combo should be more than enough to keep the deck going.
@@jeremiahriley663 Yes, but they have become so strong because they have ways to prevent the opponent from playing. The banishing Is not kashtira's strong point, it's the zone locking. And spright got where It went because of stuff like toad. Opponent lockdown Is now more than ever the goal of any competent deck. A boss Monster to be good has to move towards doing that. This is not a combo piece, this is a level 8 synchro, It competes with stuff like borrel savage. The link 4 competes with all the good generic link 4 in the game. See where the problem lies?
@@jeremiahriley663 and trust me, I WANT for something other than opponent lockdown to be viable, but it's just how the game has shaped up to be in the last decade. It's the most efficient way to win, and if you don't do it, you just risk yourself to be otkd next turn.
@@astogram4321 what you mean? You summon the synchro and after that you use nadir. Then in the standby you summon the discarded monster. Would be probably not good but it was just an idea
We’re still missing a salad card so don’t judge the support yet. Wheesel is busted and raging phoenix is also ridiculous because now you play transcendence for an additional reincarnation link. Also phoenix makes rage a pop 4. This salad support is broken
you can summon pyro phoenix using trancendence during the opponents turn to get a quick and dirty board wipe as well as a spell/trap bounce with heat leo. Raging phoenix brings a lot to the table here with the amount of tools that automatically because more accessable and playable.
