@@Exisist5151 If we had any supremely (ha) busted unsearchable Pendulums that would be okay but for now it doesn't really accomplish much. You're unlikely going to be summoning a level 12 synchro before the pendulum summon.
Making Miragestallio and SP little knight gives you - 1 banish till EP - bounce a monster - spin a backrow - weasel in the GY to draw a card and clog their board
With Princess and the new salad support, there actually is a way to...kinda play through Nib with salad post PHNI. OCG has been playing Debug instead of Fire because it lets you make Cyberse Wicckid to search Weasel, then use Wicckid as material for Princess. By holding Weasel in hand and not committing to Stallio, there actually isn't a single point where they can Nib you. Any time they Nib, you summon weasel, link into Bale, trigger Princess to summon, banish bale to protect, and make the link 4. If they wait until end of main, you don't banish bale and instead trigger Raging grave effect then remake Raging with princess + Raging. You only end on 1 trap with this line, but the fact that there even is a way to play around Nib just shows how busted Princess is for the deck. It's off of a 2 card combo btw - Debug + Gazelle or Debug+Spinny. Gazelle + Spinny also works if you have a Foxy discard in hand
the one problem i have playing debug or fire as the normal summon is that it can easily be ashed/imperm. Tho when either of them go through, its a huge +. For now, as my normal summon i generally prefer bufferlo as you can always chainblock with bale.
Code of soul with the field spell up will let you relink pyro phoenix in opponents main phase, keep that in mind. Both effects of the field spell can be activated once per turn, so when you quick effect code of soul it will let you relink with one salad link as full material.
Instead of a negate I like the idea of a purrely spell. A continuous that if a salad link monster is tributed: summon salad monsters from the gy up to its link rating and make it a tenki why not
arguably i believe that sticking the normal summon is more of a big deal than nib, the deck seriously loses to a single book on its normal etc. also the extra deck problem seems insane if we decide to play pyro phoenix as well
I’m summoning firewall singularity on my opponents turn since I’m not locked into fire monsters. I also summon horse prince as part of my combo, so I can summon him instead of ash like usual. My salad end board is 6 interruptions. The zarc is really good. Just cause it’s name is zarc
I think they could use a quickplay spell that lets you banish a salad from the grave to ss a copy of the same name from the deck with its effects negated. Call it Salamangreat Afterburner or something
They technically tried to give Salamangreat a way out of Nibiru with 2 cards in the Legendary Duelists wave. There's the Trap that revives a FIRE and the Synchro that does the same. If you access them, then the Nib will not invalidate the entire board because you'll have a link on the field.. Thing is that those cards are so bad on their own that it's basically impossible to work with them. The trap expecially, renouncing an interruption like that is so terrible. The Synchro at least gives you bodies to revive with Will's soul charge effect, which is not really guaranteed tbh, so if you have spare resources you can technically think about that but the payoff simply isn't great and it costs 2 ED slots. They tried doing this and they failed. Giving Salamangreat a monster negate would be so cringe as well, so they either need to give Salamangreat an actually good Normal Spell to search with Salamangreat Fennec that fixes those problems in some sort of way, or they need to make a full support wave again that will likely powercreep a lot of older salamangreats that are still played, which is not a bad thing per se but the deck would lose a lot of personality. And we all know what happens when good design is ignored just to make something stronger. BTW, I don't know about the modern ratios of Salamangreat, but was Spinny still a 3-of? Because if it was, then you can just cut Spinny to 1 and play 3 of this card.
relinking pyro phoenix to pop your opponents board off-turn is no different from just searching rage off of raging phoenix so I don't see the value of that, especially since it requires you to play 2 pyro phoenix which is just stinky. If anything it's better to make heatleo which doesn't require a relink that can spin something like a fieldspell or a continuous spell/trap on top of stallio to bounce a monster.
You get both. There are showcases that literally have the normal board alongside an on ready pyro phoenix. You're not choosing between. You're getting both.
Stallio can be a bounce, Heatleo can be a s/t spin, andy Pyro Phoenix can nuke the board. Kinda cool. Inwonder if there are any other cards that are worth making, like Topologic Bomber Dragon maybe?
For nib they could print some card gigantic spright but locking both players to special summon only fire or puting a clause that the next special summon of each player must be a fire monster or something like that
If a monster effect does not say otherwise, it only can be activated, or applies in the case of continuous effects, on the field. If an effect does not say that it is a quick effect, or that it can be activated during the opponent’s/either turn, then it cannot be activated on your opponent’s turn. In this case, the effect applies a lingering effect that allows you to perform a relink. It specifies when it can be activated as “During your Main Phase” so it cannot be activated during your opponent’s turn, if it said “During the Main Phase” it could. The effect also specifies that you can perform the relink “during this turn” so it does not carry into the opponent’s turn either. So it must be activated on the field to apply the lingering effect, but once the lingering effect is applied, you can perform the relink at any point that turn. Where this card is does not matter after the effect is activated, as lingering effects exist separate from the card that applied the effect.
@@VGM7217 thanks for the explanation. I was wondering how people were able to ‘reincarnate’ summon pyro Phoenix during the opponent’s turn. Was it because people already had a pyro Phoenix and since code of soul allows link summoning during your opponent’s turn, were they using the effects of salamangreat sanctuary spell (not code of soul) on the opponent’s turn to ‘reincarnate’? Could pyro be used a a board disruption now?
This might be a stretch but I think salad should have a card that locks both players into only summoning fire, just like how gigantic spright locks both players into only level 2s so your opponent can’t nib you
If I have Sanctuary and already activated Code of Soul, do I have to declare which card I'm using to relink? Like if I want to nuke with Pheonix do I have to tell my opponent if I'm using one card or the other or can I just do it twice?
@@Lilithlily5 Sorry! I should have specified I'm wondering about if you've activated the second effect but not actually link summoned with it yet the that turn. Since you have 2 different cards granting you the same passive ability I'm curious about if you have to specify anything to your opponent. Say I relink Sunlight Wolf to add something back and then later in the turn my field spell somehow gets removed, in that case it would matter which card I took advantage of to summon the Sunlight Wolf since if I declared Code of Soul earlier for some dumb reason then I would have lost my chance to relink again for the turn.
Whereas if I said I was using the field spell to link summon and it gets removed I still have the Code of Soul I activated earlier. It probably wouldn't come up but I'm just curious about if the rules would require me to be specific about the order.
I mean, if they ever give another link 1 monster to Salamangreat, the best effect would be like "Both players can only special summon fire monsters for the rest of the turn" and this just turns of nib and can make Salad top tier. Like, isn't this like the effect that makes Spright very resistant to Nib? And it's already years since it got released, so why is it not even being considered by Konami?
Meanwhile, Sky Striker support is freaking unplayable. As unique as the MMZ restriction of the archetype is, it has aged so poorly that I wish there was a way to bypass it the same way Lambda allows PSY-Framegear cards to bypass the activation restriction they all have. Instead, we get a stupid ass link 4 that requires you to fuck up your GY spell setup just to get a negate and on-field pop on chain link 2 or higher. Actual trolling
I HATE that Nibiru just gatekeeps 98% of decks. Card needs ban. Also konami need to stop releasing band-aid fixes to the going first problem. It's just make the game worse in the long run.
I’m so sick and tired of Konami giving us garbage Salad support that incentivizes you to use the dumb re-link gimmick for monsters that don’t even have good effects that warrant re-linking them. Just give the deck good generic support like some more extenders that DON’T fire lock you and a way to set up a negate before the fifth summon.
Raging Phoenix being always treated as Pyro Phoenix and this card being an actual salad (instead of fire achichi we got in their pack) would have actually solved all these issues.
@@babrad Raging Phoenix should be treated as Pyro Phoenix while on the field, not always. Otherwise you can't run three of Raging plus a Pyro. Not sure that would make a difference, but pure builds would prefer it.

Thing is, Salad doesnt have a monster that's comparable to what Arise-Heart is. Wish Kash you couldve just summoned Arise pass, which was actually something that A LOT of people did lmao
