Well, Danza‘s style was already this crazy and heavy. If anything, Danza influenced his playing more than the other way around. Listen to Danza II’s “Go Greyhound” or “Carroll 14 Wossman 7’.
@@DrOctatonic dude josh is tragically holding back his genius writing and playing style in emmure. It drives me up a wall. Once he joined Emmure its like a grossly reduced the complexity and swag in his riffs. Russian hotel aftermath is the most Danza like song on this emmure album and it is by far and away my favorite song on the album. He needs to put more danza into emmure and stop holding back
@@Hifcrea No he doesn’t. It’s not his band. He talked about this already. He said he had no intention being invited to join a band only to completely change their sound. Emmure is mostly Frankie’s vision like it or not. You can hear Josh’s flare on all their new stuff but it’s not supposed to be Danza. That’s generally not how joining an existing band works if you want to maintain any sort of long term relationship.
What I would give to hang with this man and learn of his chill brutality. Easily one of the most creative and heavy guitarists of a generation, and took Emmure to a whole new level.
Met Josh some years back at the Diamond Ballroom at a Tony Tap Dance show ..Chill dude talked with me about his gnarly pic slides and how he dose them cleanly.
For anyone curious, that shoulder pain he mentioned is from wearing his guitar too high. For every string you add, the higher your guitar needs for good wrist-positioning. If Josh keeps adding strings, eventually, his guitar will be up by his collar bone.
I love Josh he is such a Legend! I am so glad the change happen to allow Josh to take over for Emmure and just add so much more and begin a new chapter to making the band and their music that much better!
@@user-do4ho6hm2l I mean, Joshua Travis plays very well! Sarcasm! What's incomprehensible !? I liked the video very much! Just my friend, this is Russian, it is very complex and diverse, and that is why you did not understand why I wrote a comment regarding 1000 dislikes, which is located above in our dialogue))
my shoulder hurts all the time when playing. Many muscles are involved when playing guitar. I will say though I've only been playing 2 years and part of it is that I'm tensing up too much, other part that I've had tendon injuries for quite some time now... That and maybe my playstyle is just very muscle intensive
Hi man. If something is hurting it means you are pulling yourself too hard. Pulling hard doesn't get you to the better sound, it means you are wasting too much energy and it goes to nowhere. In your playing try to get the balance when you are using only the energy need to be used and no more. Also try thinner gauges. Guys like Josh Travis and Dino Cazares were always using thin strings on their guitars for fast and comfort picking, it's not a bass y'know.
upd. Looked at your playing on your channel, you are already using not thick strings. And I see no problems with your techniques, so it must be your arms- consult medical specialist for acquiring data if you have some pathologies. Or you just not warming up properly.
@@yournewshithd If you look at my picking though you might notice i'm mostly down picking. That's also something hopefully I can hopefully break habit of with a more academic approach to learning guitar. But without a doubt, a part of it is my body injuries. The strain on them is excentuated or highlighted from otherwise normal activities. I never have been a weak guy either which puts more pressure when I tense up. Big contributer to how I developed repetitive stress injuries/ tendonitis through weight lifting in the past . I did too much at once given my natural strength and fucked myself prob cuz I was the only one not taking them roids.
@@stephenvanbellinghen933 sorry to hear about injuries. I have a buddy heavy-lifter which had some wrist disease, as a result of his exercises. At one moment he even thought he wouldn't be able to play a guitar (he also plays 8string, right now he has Steinberg Boden 8 multiscale), but right now he seems to be totally okay and playing fine. I hope things will also change for you. Cheers!
@@yournewshithd I appreciate it I hope so too. I didn't read your first comment til now because it bugged out, but its great advice. Easier said then done, but also well put.
Dam, listening to these streams sounds so much better, the album mix is trash you cant hear the strumming nor the background melodies. Im hearing things I didnt hear on the album and thats cause ive been jamming to it since release. 😤
Josh is tragically holding back his genius writing and playing style in emmure. It drives me up a wall. Once he joined Emmure its like a grossly reduced the complexity and swag in his riffs. Russian hotel aftermath is the most Danza like song on this emmure album and it is by far and away my favorite song on the album. And i have nothing against emmure, infact i love emmure. Josh needs to stop holding back in this band. OR just peel off real quick Josh and give us Danza 5 lol.
No disrespect to Josh because he is amazing at what he does but he can do better than just being a second rate Wes Borland in Djent Bizkit. It's Frankie's fault he fired all the members of Emmure and was left with nothing and had to start Frankensteining a new line-up and it only cost us a new Glass Cloud album or even possibly a new Danza album. A true musician like Josh just never sits idle and you cannot do that when music is your love and I understand but I will honestly say that Glass Cloud will always be a better band than Emmure.
While I wish we did, I really doubt we'd be getting new TDTDE regardless of all this. Alpha and Omega was announced as their last album and Travis and Jessie (the vocalist) were the only two members of the band left when that came out . Also that was like NINE years ago. They've moved on.
