I love you and your videos and I subscribed to your channel because you seem like just the sweetest person. You are so lovely to share your knowledge and experiences in the world of junk journals and mixed media art. I appreciate your kind and gentle manner and your laugh is infectious. The world would be a better place if it were filled with Gayle Agostinellis and had fewer Snarky Snarkertons who never learned to not say anything at all if they don't have anything nice to say. "So", "like", "kind of", "you know" - take your pick - I'm sure the person complaining probably repeats one (or more) of these phrases in their conversations without realizing it and most people are TOO POLITE to point it out to them! And why? Because it "doesn't matter", does it, Rachel? You just "keep doing you" - which is a phrase I personally can't stand but it fits, so...

"SO" is a human thing.....I say it a lot, and I've known people from all over that says "SO".......SO, what's the big deal????? So sweet Gayle says so once in a while, SO WHAT???? If that's all you have to complain about aren't you a lucky person.....most of us have more serious things to worry about in life, SO, what do you say about that???? I'm sorry, but, this really got my dander up about such a senseless complaint!!! Yes, I agree with Kathy.....I hate the LIKE used so often.....sounds SO SO ridiculous!!!! Gayle, please pay no attention to anything negative, because you are one of the dearest, sweetest RU-vidrs with perfect grammar, etc. and I/we love you exactly like you are. Don't change on little thing about you or your daily sessions.....HUGS HUGS and more HUGS!!! And that cover is gorgeous!!! WOW!

I found how to send you a comment. Every morning I wake up and know there will be a video from my favorite creator of junk journals. Because of your great videos I was able to make a journal for my daughter when you moved to a new town. And was making another journal with more of your top ten / twelve favorite things that go in your journals. When I got a message from my friend that she is going to be a grandmother for the first time. The baby shower is in August and instead of a card the mother to be wants everyone to buy a book for the baby. She is having a girl. Well I decided I would make her a golden book journal. It was meant to be, because l found the golden book Good Little, Bad Little Girl. The title reminded me of the mother to be, since I watched her grow up. Since she lived across the street from us until she got married. Thank you for your wonderful videos and great personality. You make me laugh everyday.

I fabric covered a journal I am working on but I haven't been brave enough to sew around the edges. As I was watching you I was curious if it would work by sewing three edges then slide the cardboard in and then finish sewing? I am looking forward to your journal series. Remember if you see one negative comment on here there is two hundred good comments. Focus on the good, as I always tell my kids.
@gayleagostinelli_ct
@gayleagostinelli_ct 5 лет назад
The only thing I’d worry about with sliding in the cardboard is that the loose fabric would bunch and look funky as you open and close the book. The glue eliminates that issue. ❤️

LOL LOL Sorry if I laugh, but the person that said the cardboard will disintegrate, would not paper itself within the journal do that same also??? Just thinking out loud. I think I know what to do for my fabric cover journals (same as last time using dust cover from a book and a frozen meal box, but going to watch this series just incase you have more ideas for me. I do want to sew on my embellishments on the cover and lace etc also. I would like to share a pic of the others I have if you would like to see, 2 from dust covers and one from a painted canvas I did (I also did one using an amazon envelope which was so cushy). I am also making one out of a stiffer gift bag right now (which I'm sure you already have done) I absolutely love fray check and have used it probably since it first came out (first for sewing clothing of course ;) Love your videos ☺♥

The majority of your 26K Subbies are happy with your creativity, easy to follow tutorials, kind & generous spirit & casual delivery style. There is no way that you can possibly adjust to every single request, whine, & nit-pik comment. You simply can't please everyone & the time that you spend on this nonsense only serves to take away from the creativity & process that should be focused on the obviously successful methods that you have developed. Besides most of the ""requests & observations" can be rectified by the viewer. Too slow? Click on Settings & increase speed? Too long? Watch in the time increments that suit you. Pause & return to finish at your convenience. Prefer without dialog? Mute sound. Or perhaps the best solution is to start your own channel & showcase your creations & offer free, entertaining, flawlessly produced tutorials featuring your original ideas. I think that you would be very surprised at the amount of committed time, effort, planning & equipment investment that is required . Please do share the link to your channel as soon as it becomes available.

Love that fabric, Gayle. I did the same with one of my first journals. I used fabric from my old curtains and it turned out very well. I like the fact that the thicker material reinforces the cardboard , yet the journal remains lightweight and flexible. Good to have you home safe and sound. Say G'day to Mr A. for me. Hope you are both well. Veronica x

I am happy you are doing a cover series! I don't blame you for being over cautious with your sewing machine, but glad you got it back and they could fix it for you. I have been collecting handmade journals for 20 years now. They are made out of may different materials, but most have a cardboard base. Some are covered with handmade paper and some are just painted on the cardboard. They have held up very well for me, but keep in mind that I bought them to display instead of use. I'd still guess if I used them that they would hold up just fine....

I’d love a beginning sewing video. I used to sew my daughter’s clothes when she was young but I haven’t sewn in ages. JoAnn’s had a sale on Singer sewing machines about a year ago and I bought one of the bare bones models and it’s been in the box since. I think I’m afraid of it. 😂 With your help, I might be able to make it a worthy purchase. So yes please. Oh....and when I begin a sentence with “so”, my kids and grandkids know I’m going to be asking a difficult question - they hate hearing “so”. Makes me laugh of course.

Hi Gayle, I love the fabrics you chose for the cover. Have you ever thought of sewing the two pieces together with right side together? then slide your cardboard in it. Then all the seams would be inside, you wouldn't have fraying then. You could also then sew around the edges for decoration. It is just a thought. TFS

Do you have a source for pretty sorry silk ribbon. I see beautiful recycled sorry silk used for wraps and closures for the journals and I would really love to play with some

I always sew on the box, then there is an ugly edge, so (!) Thanks for showing us this way to do it. And I love the fabric.

love ur vids. am a bit confused ..... people worried about box not lasting? cloth wears out too. Hiummmmm lol has anyone destroyed a really good book cover? I have. what I found did not lead me to believe it would last at all without the conventional covering lol looked like it has already rotted and it was new. lol

I really like this one I have done this before on smaller scale and edged it in lace . It has been a while. Pretty book cover. I see this as a start of a beautiful junk journal!! Hugs.

The good thing about using cereal boxes is that they're food grade and probably a higher quality than ordinary cardboard.
