Thinking this is 1983. Steve’s hair gives it away. And another interesting fact...If this is from the concert in Japan...Steve was fighting the flu during this tour. He still sounds absolutely incredible. Love Journey forever. ❤️🔥

So I've never heard this Journey song, it brought tears to my eyes listening to Steve's iconic voice. This song let's you hear every fluctuation in this phenomenal man's voice, not to mention it brings me right back to my twenties and listening to Journey on the radio; yes I said radio😊 Let me say thank you for sharing and thanks for showing your audience an amazing band from the late 70's through the 80's. So glad that a young man like yourself would appreciate this music from a time when things were simpler and when music was our number one source of entertainment.
I remember reading somewhere that the band didn't want Steve Perry because "he's a crooner and we wanted a screamer." But their manager overruled them and Steve as in like Flynn. Their popularity went through the roof when he joined, and they could not argue with success. Or money LOL. This song is special to me because I used to listen to it on repeat when I was in college. I'm from Los Angeles and my school was in a little town where the students went cow tipping for fun. I had not even heard of that. This song soothed my soul.

1983 during Frontiers Tour!!! Saw them during that tour. They were sooooooo great!!!! 1981 was the Escape Tour. His hair was longer during that tour. Always been the same color, brown.

There are still a couple of Journey hits for you to react to Twon! You haven't done "Any Way You Want It" or "Feeling That Way/Anytime". The official video is best for the first song, and the Midnight Special version is best for the next. They were hits back in the day, you’ll love em 🙂

Steve's tone is a mile wide and Neal is without a doubt one of the most underrated popular guitarists of all time. The other musicians in the world know to walk away from a gun fight if he challenged them lol.

Steve had the flu and still sounds better than any singer . He is definitely the real deal. No auto tone. Better in concert than recorded. Although this was in the early the 80's, I saw them in 1986 Memphis TN ROR tour. Steve will always be the voice

Correction...This was in 1983 during the Frontiers Tour in Japan. Can you believe he was sick - supposedly with the flu - during this concert? His voice will always be imitated, but NEVER duplicated.
Steve Perry's voice is kinda like a punch right square in the nose, but in a good way. It immediately gets your attention, and usually leaves you with watery eyes.
I know that you did the audio version of Open Arms. But you really should do the live in Houston version. Steve said in a recent interview that he was most proud of his performance of that song in that concert. He felt that it was the best version of that song. Awesome!
Yes this is 1983 in Japan. Perry is excellent here, sure, but the band is so tight. For the record, Journey is guitarist Neal Schons band. Always had been always will. Perry and all those other great musicians who joined for certain periods of time were just temporary members in Neal Schons band called Journey.
I saw them on this tour and was in 3rd grade. I remember every single second of it. No other voice can compare to Steve, and the entire freakin band! Just put love ❤️
There is nothing to say about this group and Steve Perry's solo career and he is still going he put a another album in 2018 and he just released a Christmas album you can get it at Target and if you're lucky you will get to meet him and sign the CD. Much love
