Winds of march from infinity will blow your mind. Steve's voice is like no other which is why he was dubbed " The Voice". The chemistry of journey with Steve per their musical greatness is undeniable.
You can pause and rewind Steve Perry as much as you want, in my opinion! I don't mind hearing his vocals over and over again. I was just watching a short concert Steve did with The Eels in 2014, when he was 65, I believe. He sounded better, even at that age, than most of the "singers" you hear on the radio today 🎶🎵

"YOU BELONG TO ME!!!! These songs were made for a woman Steve Perry was deeply in love and she passed away from breast cancer and she had Steve make her a promise that he would sing again for his fans. Steve voice sounds raspy BUT he has mastered the sound just like Eddie Van Halen mastered feed back. Steve voice is bone chilling in these songs because you can feel and hear the pain in his voice
You feel about Steve Perry's voice as I feel about Steve Perry's voice. It's fun watching someone experience it the way I first did years ago. It's truly magical and there's no one specific thing in music that I like better.
This is probably my favorite Journey song now. Love the melody, lyrics, harmonies and Steve's killer vocals (and hair). When I hear these older songs by them I find myself saying...oh, I remember this song. That was Journey?!
I still get goosebumps listening to The Voice! And this song is my very favorite from Journey. They may be singing about the SF bay (originally it was about LA, but they changed it), but "the bay" I think about is the Monterey Bay. I'm from Santa Cruz, and am super homesick!

He didn't exactly quit the band. He had to have hip replacement surgery because he had injured his hip while hiking in Hawaii getting ready for the "Trial by Fire Tour" in "97" He wanted and asked the group to postpone the tour until he recovered from his hip replacement surgery. Neal Schon "supposedly" talked the band into seeking out a "sound alike" Steve Perry to go forth with the Tour! I thought that was a pretty crappy thing to do (if it's true)! They could have waited like Def Leopard did for their drummer! They still had to wait for Steve Augeri (the new lead singer to learn not just the new songs but the whole Journey catalog up to that point!) So, why couldn't they wait for Steve Perry to recover? I LOVE Journey and LOVE Steve Perry! The whole situation upsets me because I am such a HUGE FAN! Of course I may have the wrong info according to all the Stones magazines, Hollywood gossip, hear say, etc...etc... I do however respect the fact that Arnel Pineda (the new lead singer of Journey) HIGHLY RESPECTS Steve Perry.
Treat yourself and watch 'Mother Father' from the 1981 Escape Tour in Houston. Best live performance I've ever seen. The notes he hits at the end are otherworldly.

Wendy, you have excellent taste! Totally agree with you...the Infinity and Evolution albums are just so awesome. "Sweet and Simple" is a prime example of the range, the honesty, and the emotion Steve gave us back then. If I come across a time machine that can take me back to those early days of Journey with Steve, I'll let you know!

I’m still crushing on him!❤️ I would love to go back in time and hear them for the first time. I consider myself among the lucky to grow up listening to them.

Yes sir. Journey is one of my fav's too. I loved our teen years. WE HAD THIS. I saw them in 79. They and all of the bands back then WERE SO GOOD LIVE. SO MUCH TALENT. WHERE DID IT GO?
Twon you've got to see the video "You Better Wait" from Steve's second solo album "For The Love of Strange Medicine" with Paul Taylor and guitarist Lincoln Brewster. His voice is incredible as always, and his hair is the longest we've ever seen it...beautiful, all the way down his back just gorgeous!

This album, my favorite album by Journey (Infinity), plays as one song...best listened to that way, from Lights through to Opened The Door. Each song flows into the next.
I met a guy from San Jose while visiting my grandparents. All he talked about was Journey. He'd been seeing them at Fairs. This was before this album came out. He'd say "You gotta hear Steve Perry." He'd write every letter about Steve Perry. Finally the album "Infinity" came out he bugged me to buy it immediately. It blew me away.. I've been a huge fan ever since.
I have much love and respect for you because you are good people and you know great music when you hear it and you being as young as you are. I'm from Houston and was at those live journey concert in the early 80s. I know of many many other bands from the 80s that you would appreciate beings you have a good ear when you hear good music. So refreshing to see young people enjoying Journey!! I saw them live at the fabulous LA Colosseum (twice!) with Loverboy as their opening act, Steve Perry live is a religious experience.
Steve Perry is in my top 5 greatest voices ever…the other 4 are, in no particular order, Brad Delp of Boston, Robert Plant of LZ, Bob Seger & Paul Rodgers of Bad Company…I’d really love to squeeze John Fogerty of CCR in there as well🖤🖤
