My favorite part about this song is it's built for the dynamics of Arnel's voice. He can show off his skills best this way. He's a great singer, but will always have to suffer under the shadow of Steve Perry. Singing his songs is a great way to make his own light shine.
I dont think thats the case anymore , look everyone in music who has any idea will realise what a great singer SP is/was but Arnel has come through and if he has great songs like this to sing ...lets just keep the JRNY juggernaught rollin..
@@anthonydevitt3206 I think I said that ! nothing would give me greater pleasure than seeing Perry back at the helm and touring over here in England but it WONT happen....
@@anthonydevitt3206 agree! but you have to realize, SP can't sing his songs anymore.. after few decades, if the name Journey continue the legacy and a new young singer emerge and even actually surpassed your SP expectations, people like you will still say the same statement.. i kinda agree because nothing's better than the original even the substitute is actually better.. so stop fanboying and move on..
@@ecilatnecniv I agree with you man, even how amazing the vocalist still.the fans1 of perry has a complain so be it. For I'm enjoying listening to the song that ARNEL sing.
We love Journey so much we’ve looking forward for you guys to comeback, thank you for keeping Arnel in your wings. Your success is our happiness you are all awesome. We love Arnel so much
Excellent song, excellently executed! I wish I were there! Can't wait for the rest of the new record! I own their WHOLE catalogue, all the way back to '73!
After seeing Journey on LIVE Tour Concert - the first time-- I suddenly became an AP Fan..haha. Since then, I have seen many Concerts of Journey.!! AP got that tenor perfect pitch vocals that show more raspiness when he sings ballads --full of emotions and soul and when he sings rock songs, he commands the stage with his presence- the whole crowd rocks too !! AP is amazing !! What an incredible performance each time. Can't wait to see Journey Concert again soon, in Florida! Congrats AP for his 15th year as frontman for Journey, this year, 2022 !! Journey rocks !!
@@shawngregory1429 at that age 53 AP is loosing his voice! Thats what you call aging factor.... Cant deny it but its still a kickass song! Get over it dude its like metallica's james hatfields voice sucks now he aint hitting those high notes no more...
I'd imagine he was already pretty busy, but agreed to come on and ease Deen back into the band. He probably was as valuable for his other contributions in production and arranging is much as drumming. Maybe he'll stick around some as a guy off the bench. It feels like this isn't a one and done with Journey, they probably plan to work several more years.
Dean is playing electric drums......the amount of tour dates require 2 drummers due to previous commitments of the drummers. Same with keys....new dates and arrangements require new and more
As long as Jonathan Cain is with the band the lyrical content will stay Quantitative with hopefully some excellent 2 or 3 part harmonies from Dean, Arnel, and Jonathon! They should use Kevin ( caveman) Shirley for production, he’s worked with them before.
Uhhh...I think it's the other way around, I think Neal wants him to stay as long as he wants to. It's not like he doesn't have another job to go to LOL
Quit with calling them a tribute band. It’s old, tired and lazy. Tribute bands don’t write, release , record and perform new original music. If you prefer the classic journey lineup I understand. I think we all do. Us true fans appreciate that they’re still moving forward, sounding great and keeping their music alive.
Tribute band? What does that mean? Doesn’t that mean a band that plays songs of a Great Band where the “tribute band” are different people from the original? Does that mean that this band, has look alikes of Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Deen Castronovo and even Arnel Pineda? Sorry but I don’t get it.
@@ShanonSchockmel ah..I heard they got sacked/fired..a friend of mine said it was due to their reluctance to tour..not sure if that's true or not..we dont get much news anymore of Journey here I the U.K..good old RU-vid eh for keeping us informed..many thanks brother..!!!
I might and I say might learn to like this guy if he would stop trying to mimic Steve Perry. At least in this song he does his own. Journey needs to let the past go and make new music with Arnel, unless Steve Perry rejoins them which would be great but... I don't see that happening. I don't care how many other singers Journey has had... No one has been or ever will be a great as Steve Perry. Sorry for me when Steve Perry left Journey, Journey died.
Then, why you are here? Just to bash...? Come on... Die with the voice of your Steve Perry. As young generation, Our band and JOURNEY is with Arnel Pineda and totally not with Steve Perry. Steve Perry who? We know Journey because of Arnel Pineda and totally not with Perry, until we visit Museum and appreciate the history of Steve Perry. If not for Arnel, we never know and appreciate his work. Thanks to Arnel Pineda!
It's a good song for Arnel. But it's getting to hard rocking for the journey we loved. Definitely not a fan of this music. It drowns out Arnel. You can't hardly understand what he is saying.
Carrie Gruber, I agree. It's nice that other people enjoy this current band they call Journey, but to me, the song and the singer are boring boring boring. It doesn't matter to me what they do, but I wanted to give my opinion. And let me remind everyone that Steve Perry didn't just sing the songs, he co-wrote most of them. So Journey without him is a very different band. It's not just that there's a different vocalist. I do find it sad because musically I find it terribly boring. FWIW, most of Perry's new songs are also boring to me. The past is the past. The great thing is, the good songs are always there to listen to.
If Arnel is boring, he wouldn't last in Journey for 14 years and their concert won't always be "SOLD OUT TICKETS". Clearly, he is well-loved and accepted by people around the world as part of Journey's band. His stage presence and charisma are just undeniable.
Yeah right..they are Sold Out tickets when there are 4 other bands performing with them to help attendance along. The reason he has stayed for 14 years is because the band can't find anyone else.it was a total embarrassment when he performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He and the rest of the band should have been ashamed of themselves.
