When doing Journey, do their live versions from 1981 Houston Concert. They are even better live, just like Pink Floyd. Check out "Mother Father" and "Who's crying Now" from that concert. Steve Perry is the lead singer

Always thought Paul Rodgers of Bad Company etc was “The Voice”. But honestly, I think Steve Perry deserves it more. Beautiful and clear. His interview by Dan Rather on the series The Big Interview is invaluable for any serious Perry fan. Like many, many highly gifted people, his life has not been an easy one.

Most downloaded song on iTunes. This song is 40 years old this year. Journey is my absolute favorite band of all time. Been a fan for 40 years. Appreciate your great reaction. Journey music rabbit hole goes deep and vast. Live in Houston 1981 is awesome concert to watch. Start with infinity 1978 to Trial by Fire 1996. All with Steve Perry as lead vocalist...Neal Schon lead guitarist, Ross Valory on bass guitar, Steve Smith on drums and Jonathan Cain on keys. Gregg Rollie was originally the keyboardist in 1978 with Aynsley Dunbar on drums on Infinity album only. More Journey reactions please.

As others have mentioned, checking out their 1981 Houston concert is well worth it. The musicianship is outstanding and Steve Perry's voice is exceptional. I've listened to the entire concert multiple times and it's still hard to believe they sound that good live.

Back when this album was released I wanted to go to this concert sooo bad --- My husband reluctantly agreed to go with me -- He considered Journey to be a soft rock band -- We went to Pine Knob an outdoor concert venue in Detroit Lol -- they had a beautiful bright red piano on the set and my husband after a song or two was whooping it up and finally was a Journey fan --- great concert -- Thanks for bringing back that memory guys

I feel bad for you guys. I grew up in the States and was able to actually see so many of these bands -- Journey, The Who, Queen, Boston, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac --- live back in the late 70s and early 80s when I was a a teenager and they were at their peak. Both of you would have been SOOOOO much fun to go to those concerts with.

Hey guys, just been watching y'all for a couple of months. Like how y'all are twins, I'm married to an identical twin myself, so cool. Anyway, like your passionate reactions to all the good music. Music is supposed to make you feel something. I know an inappropriate word can slip out now and then, but glad it's not a habit. I was born in the 70's and got to hear & see 1st hand all good music. There still is some some good stuff out there, but not like back when. Need to do more 80's like Rick Astley, Men at work, Tears for Fears & Hall & Oats. Oh, do CCR's Travelin band haven't seen anyone check it out. It will blow your mind. It's fast pace. 👋

Yes, this band is remarkable! Probably my favorite band. Funny you should talk about how the lead singer, Steve Perry, cannot be replaced... or how no one else can sound like him. Well, when he was no longer performing as their lead singer due to medical issues, they had to find a new lead singer. There was a guy from the Philippines doing RU-vid videos showcasing his voice and who was a big fan of Journey and Steve Perry. He studied Steve Perry’s singing technique so well, that he sounded just like him. The band came across his videos and were shocked at how much he sounded like Steve. In fact, they were so impressed with this guy, that they had him fly to the U. S., audition for the band, and they ended up hiring him as their new lead singer! And he is still Journey’s lead singer to this day! True story. By the way, love the room where you are doing your reaction videos. Like that it’s dark in the background. Makes it easier on the eyes and can see you guys much better. Good choice!

This song has been in so many movies over the years how anyone still hasn't heard it is beyond me, like you said the chorus is the thing that ppl mostly hear but when your friend still said then he hadn't heard it he must have been away from his TV and radio the last 40 years or so lol

Journey was started by Guitarist Neal Schon and Keyboardist/Singer Greg Rollie who were in Santana a “Jam Band”. Journey had little success until Singer Steve Perry arrived. Unfortunately, there was a major difference of opinion within the band. Some wanted to be true to the art and “Jam” but they also wanted commercial success. Rollie left the band and Johnathon Cain replaced him on Keyboards. Perry and Cain wrote tremendous success as I’m sure you’ll find out but Perry never felt part of the band, he felt like an outsider and traveled separate from the band. They were one of the biggest bands of the early 1980’s (my late teens).

Yeah, Steve Perry is one of those Rock guys who can really sing, no doubt. You want to hear their best song? Some might argue this with me but we are playing favorites. This is one of their early songs that MADE them famous! It’s also kinda bluesy and definitely very Rock which is why I like it. I always go for a band’s heavier songs. It’s hard to pick a better JOURNEY song. Lovin, Touchin, Squeezing. The whole band kicks ass on this one! I guarantee it! All JOURNEY fans will agree that this is a good song.
