I am 65 yrs old and have all their music, Steve had to move on, I watched an interview and learned that he was in love ONCE in his life and it went sour, he just had enough and had to move on now. No once can ever replace him, BUT.....Arnel is awesome to carry on Steve's legend.
Imagine, filling the shoes of "the voice", how can u not put this guy in the list of the top vocalist to ever perform in front of people. We still have this never ending debate on who's the best vocalist of all time between Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury, many says that Perry has the voice but Freddie has the showmanship on live performances. But this guy Arnel has the voice of perry and the showmanship of freddie. Stop playin with AP.
Arnel is such a good person he never disrespected Steve and Steve knows this it showed during the the Rock and roll Hall of Fame induction Steve talked about Arnel & he knows Arnel has a great voice and he see that he is keeping journeys music alive yes we know he is not Steve but he does the songs Justice 🎤
Best journey song for me. I love all 3 singers from journey. Each had a mini era with the band and it was like phases. Of course Steven perry was goat but genuinely love the sound of all 3

I love journey this song will always continue to the best & always in my book it sounds perfect keep journey alive no Steve Perry but thanks for Arnel for keeping journey at heart & Rocking & Rolling
I really didn't like this band when I was in high school, but I do now. This guy couldn't be more into this tune if he had written it himself. He works the crowd and sings it like he means it. I'm sure that Steve Perry is living the life that he wants to. So accept the band the way it is. This isn't Karaoke, it's the real thing.
Steve Perry and Mickey Thomas.. .the only two that could ever nail it just as well and accurate LIVE as in the Studio.. .Mickey Thomas can STILL nail all the high notes today. Both of these guys have an INSANE register of vocal prowess. Listen to Mickey Thomas nail "Fooled around and fell in love" over and over again
Thanks for sharing your nicely taken video of Journey..I love it ! I lived through SP years, but he's gone now for more than 25 years--so I moved on, SP claimed he is NOT rejoining Journey even though AP publicly claimed that he is willing to step back should SP decide to rejoin again!- After watching AP on LIVE Concert the first time--I got hooked and end up watching many of Journey Concerts because AP gives an incredible performance each time--coupled with great iconic Journey instrumental musicians and perfect backing voice to complement AP--- WOW concerts each time! AP is the real deal! Excellent singer in his own rite..AP got that tenor, awesome raspy voice, the young looks ( on his 50--but looks like 20years younger !! ). unbelievable energy and great stage presence !. He has brought true and NEW life back to the band that was certain floundering when SP left !! He saved Journey --- as if NO Journey band is around doing shows/concerts-- the song dies along with the band as it happened to other popular bands around !! Because it's not enjoyable with Arnel singing Journey tunes. He seems like a great guy and I wanted to give him a chance. I guess I just hear Journey one way. No biggie
Its been how freakin long already?? Steve Perry has been gone FOREVER and he's not coming back, nor is there going to be a clone of him created to replace him. Yes Journey was amazing and undeniably classic with him, but its 2013, and Arnel is rocking it and hes making it his own without taking away from what makes classic Journey awesome. And you know what, Journey still rocks and kic ks ass... how many bands from the late 70s, 80s and today can say that??

Wow. It's 2024 and this was Arnel when he had a STRONG voice. Go watch him now on a 2024 video. I bet Stone in Love is downloaded from one of they're shows. Arnel sounds REALLY bad now, compared to this over 10-15 years ago..He sounded so GOOD here, AMAZING.
Was lucky to see both singers perry in the late 80s and Steve perry was absolute perfection, closest to sounding like the album versions of the songs. Still enjoy seeing journey but perry was next level great.plus all the greatest hits were with perry, they didn't have any hits after him

Sick of all the Anti-Arnel junk. Honestly no one can be Steve Perry from 1979 through 1986. But that includes Steve Perry now, who is a shell of his former self. Arnel is better than Perry would be now voice wise.
Journey is Neal Schon's band! Always has been Always will be. Singers come and go. Fu@:Perry and Pineda. No Schon no Journey. (Rolie too but that's another story)
Maybe. But Neal Schon did not choose such Perry sound-alike . Actually he already found 2, but did not pick one. Instead he searched further and found one who is very much different but knows how to sing their songs and take Journey on a different level.
I just watched a full length video of Steve Perry solo. Made approximately the same time as this one. Steve Perry and his band blew journey away. Journey will never be journey without Steve Perry

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, this is America, I have never heard Steve Perry sing flat but I have Arnel and I've seen Journey in the early 70's and I've seen them now, Arnel is very, very good but he is just not as good a Perry to me, if others like him more great. Sound is very subjective.
I was front row with this new singer. Sorry just could get into it. All the jumping around like David Lee Roth. Sorry not Journey.. My local Journey band singer is better than this guy
