I just got this game today😊Thank you for posting such a wonderful video:-) I found your videos are the most clear and helpful to understand the complicated rules! I can't wait to play this game on the weekend😆

Hooray! Thank you for posting this video, Markus! I am really enthused about this game, after watching your playthrough ... but those dice rolls can be brutal! I know I told you offline that I preferred the first BttF movie (still true!), but I did enjoy whichever one was set in the 'Old West' era, too. Not the one in the future. I'll have to look for the X-files boardgame you mentioned; I don't think I know that one, either! btw - the wooden dice you sent me (thanks again!) are AWESOME for Nemo's War ... very consistently rolling 10's, 11's, and 12's really helps to sink shipping!

If you would ask me about boardgame themes, I would always come back to Western-themed ones too though! Yeah those dice rolls... but actually in a game like this I prefer some randomness over too puzzly games. Let’s see how things go in part 2 ;-)

Markus... lucky, lucky you. I pre-ordered this game back in June here in Canada, still not received it yet... :( But happy to see you play it, it's gonna be kind of a tutorial for me, I'm going to learn the game with you, by watching your playthrough... awesome !! and thank you :)

As already mentioned in the video, I agree that the art and attention to detail in this game is absolutely lovely. Two things I am not quite sure about and which might turn out to be negatives for me are a) the fiddly aspect of flipping the players' tiles all the time and even more so b) that punishing luck factor with the dice. The "Gang Disrupts Traffic" card also made me wonder how balanced the game is and if having Biff being completely distracted by the DeLorean could be exploited to boost the love meter undisturbed to maximum before taking care of the card. But that might very likely be just me coming up with bad strategies, as I have never played the game so far, and I will give the team behind the game the benefit of doubt that they tested the game enough. In any case, thanks a lot for the the time and effort you put into making this video series, much appreciated ! :)

Thanks, Patrice. As always you are presenting a great reflected view on games! The luck factor is definitely a thing in the game! Dice, random card draws, random power tiles etc. Overall there are some mitigation mechanics but in the end you're hoping for a "6" to be rolled :-D But as I also enjoy games like AH, EH etc. I am ok and simply enjoy the ride!

I just finished watching your playthrough. I agree that the game has in some areas a nice replay value (amount of trouble cards, different player tiles, items, ect.), but at the same time I'm worried that this is the kind of game where you can reach relatively early and obviously a state that is unwinnable. I'm also not sure how much pressure the game puts on the players' various tasks (moving the DeLorean, ect.), because if the pressure is indeed too high, turns suddenly become automated in the sense of "I have to do this now, or we will lose". That being said, this can be said about many cooperative games, but many of them also control this aspect with a random element, allowing the players to go for risky push-your-luck turns. The way the Infection Deck in Pandemic works is a good example for this: If there are critical hotspots, they obviously need to be taken care off, but maybe it will be fine for 1 more turn and the player has the freedom to do something else -- or a special (event) card helps preventing a catastrophe and the game dictating what to do. You mentioned Eldritch Horror, of which I am also a fan of, and here the same thing is achieved with the Mythos Cards' different random sets of icons (-> maybe Reckoning effects will trigger, maybe not). The turn track in Back to the Future: Back in Time is on the other hand pre-determined, which seems more fair and plannable at first glance, but for said reasons I think it backfires and hurts the game a bit. (I will post my comments on BGG too once you uploaded the videos there to encourage discussion there.)

I ordered what I thought was this game through Target only to find that I had in fact ordered Back to the Future: Dice through Time. I cannot tell you how disappointed I was. My husband was thrilled though, so I guess we are keeping it. Bah!

Haha - I almost did the same and even ordered it from the US! I mean the other one is not really bad but feels a bit more bland compared to this one.

There happened to be 2 opportunity cards in the same location, and when I rolled the die, I got 2 wilds, with 1 of the wilds able to resolve one of the opportunities and the other wild able to resolve the other opportunity.... but I don't know if that's legal. Can I resolve 2 opportunity cards in the same roll if both opportunities are in the same location, or does the roll only apply for one of the opportunities/challenges? Thanks in advance!
@realjplay
@realjplay 3 года назад
I think you have to resolve each card individually, so each roll should be unique for each card encountered. But I could be wrong and maybe this has been answered on BGG already. Of course I sounds somewhere epic the way you are engaging it from a thematic perspective ;-)

i picked up Fast and Furious Highway Heist and Horrified recently. Good value. I'll watch your video of Back to the Future now. (Update: I watched a few min but fell asleep. Back to the Future game may not be for me.)

I never was into Fast & Furious but the game looks quite fun actually. Have never player "Horrified" but this one looks very "streamlined" for my taste. Would you recommend it?
@A._J_.
@A._J_. 3 года назад
@@realjplay For Fast and Furious game, I would recommend watching Furious 6 and Furious 7 first because the game scenarios are from those movies (so helps to visualize during the game). Horrified is good and has some fanmade monsters on BGG to add variety. At price of $25-30 each, they are good values. They are definitely not $50 games. But then, most $50 and up games disappoint (me).

@realjplay

Easy - the game plays from 2-4 players; the turn tracker scales the game for the most part.
