This was a great series. It's a brutal game though and with each die having 2/6 chance of rolling a Biff, it can feel tough. I eventually won it playing with all 4 characters using lots of assists. Also, I remember one of the designers emphasising the need to gain items and power tiles early game, rather than diving straight in to trying to move the love meter or the DeLorean and that really made a difference. My brother and I also really enjoyed the Dice Through Time game, eventually beating that on the hardest level (5 items per timeline). Sometimes playing with two brains rather than solo makes a big difference because you can discuss tactics and the other player will see things that you didn't. Thanks again.

I really enjoyed watching all of these. I just received the game today and I enjoy dice chuckers. I get pissed yes but I love the thrill. And I can tell you do too. Thanks a lot! I learned a ton for tomorrow!

Don't take this the wrong way, but this video had me cracking up whenever you would roll more Biffs. My friend and I played two weeks ago and had a similar experience.

Haha - no worries… I have similar reactions after my die rolls but typically not in a good way ;-)

I owned this game for just over 24 hours. We played it once. I watched a couple of playthroughs including this one. We were playing it right -- the rules aren't that difficult. We started playing it again. We decided it just wasn't fun. All that flipping of tiles is fiddly...and Biff is overpowered. I sold it this morning, and it's already in the post! I had high hopes for it, but it's just not for us. We loved Horrified and Jaws, but this one was not a winner for hubby and me. Oh well! ... It might have stayed in the collection IF each player had a base set of dice instead of tiles, and each die had only one Biff side. Never mind though! Plenty of other games out there!
@realjplay
@realjplay 3 года назад
Yes, it's somewhat fiddly, I agree but I have worse games than that :-D Jaws is great but is getting quite repetitive in my opinion but it's definitely highly thematic! And exactly there is ton of games out there; especially cooperative ones!

@@realjplay We've played a lot of Horrified, Jaws not so much -- it just seems like a summertime game to me! So a couple times a year is plenty. :)

I would not recommend using that watch dice tower. The dice barely roll and it gives weird scores. I use instead a proper one which give better results. Nice gameplay as usually.

Oh yes, I didn’t assemble it, but it does look like the dice don’t seem to roll well. It’s probably why a lot of people think the game is too hard sadly.

Hi Do you think the difficulty increase or decrease with moref players ?
@realjplay
@realjplay 3 года назад
Actually I wondered about that one too... The only real balancing mechanic I noticed was the turn track, so with 4 players you have more turns, so more trouble cards and love meter checks to deal with. On the other it's more likely that another character will be with you to help, so maybe there is a chance it scales well but I will certainly try different player counts too.
@fightingkitchen7960
@fightingkitchen7960 2 года назад
I think the game is a bit easier with more players. But that being said, it’s still fun with 2 and it’s very possible to win with 2 since most of the games I played with this are 2 player games.
@scottsmartky
@scottsmartky 3 года назад
This one seems more of a "Well, I can tell we're not going to win" about half-way through the game while the other BttF game seems from playthroughs to be a cascade failure type of game so you're winning and winning and then you lose. Both roll dice as well.
@realjplay
@realjplay 3 года назад
Haha! But I firmly believed during part 2 of my playthrough I still had a chance... obviously everyone else saw my demise long before me :-D
@scottsmartky
@scottsmartky 3 года назад
@@realjplay The car was just way too far back as was the love meter. You just weren't going to have enough turns to mega-move both. It looks really rough for 2 players as your first two turns really have to be focused on getting additional tiles/items so you can do more things, but you only have a very limited number of turns. You pulled pretty good tiles and items too.

Aw so close to a Biff Yahtzee ;)
@realjplay
@realjplay 3 года назад
Yeah, it was! And believe me: if I would have played Yahtzee, those would have shown completely useless numbers :-D The game really should award you for this, i.e. "3 or more Biff's in a single roll, you win the game!".

I absolutely love the art and the amazing production, and the movie. However, from watching the gameplay it seems like a very frustrating game of cancelling your actions giving you a feeling of real no influence. Example: In the same action you knock Biff down and he gets back up because of your roll. Is it very frustrating when you move a pink NPC away, and then on the next character's turn the card moves the pink NPC back where it was? Is the game too frustrating to enjoy?
@realjplay
@realjplay 3 года назад
Thanks for your comment! As for your question: I do think it’s frustrating but from personal experience I know a lot of folks don’t like this level of randomness in a game like this. It actually feels more like a puzzle but even when you perfectly puzzle, a roll will destroy you :-D I‘m ok with this but again: not for everyone.

@@realjplay Thanks for the extra info Markus. I did really wanted to buy it. Then I decided not to. Now that you mention a puzzle feeling, I don't know what to do :D I prefer Euro games, but I do enjoy Dawn of the Zeds.

Awesome! I really hope you will enjoy it :) This one here is definitely not really a euro (that would rather something like "Pandemic") but so isn't DotZ (I believe I did a playthrough once for it too), so you should be good :-D
@antgerfitz
@antgerfitz 3 года назад
@@realjplay Yes, I will just play it for the experience like DotZ, rather than trying to win with skill. If the Biff gets too frustrating, I know how to fix it. I will imagine he is the relentless original Terminator and Lorraine & George are Sarah & John Connor. Then I would be disappointed if he didn't immediately get back up :D Nice channel. I've subscribed.

This game is extremely difficult to win
@realjplay
@realjplay 3 года назад
Yes, I agree but that's really a good thing in my book :)
@fightingkitchen7960
@fightingkitchen7960 2 года назад
It’s not that difficult to win. Here are a few tips I found that helped me with the game: 1. The rulebook actually says this & I agree, that you should dedicate your first few turns just (mostly) doing opportunity challenges & ignoring the car and love challenges (you can probably do a bit but always try to do opportunities.). It may seem like it’s a big sacrifice, but it will really help you in the long run. If you really build up your characters, then you can have really powerful turns in the 2nd half of the game, there were times where I could move the love meter like about 5 spaces just because I had a lot of tiles. 2. The electric guitar is a really powerful item, especially if you use it on the re-rolling biff tiles. (Most of the time.) Whenever I get a chance to get it, I do. 3. The rulebook also says this, that you should assist on important things like moving the car and love meter. And in my personal experience, assisting is VERY essential to winning the game, I used to think it was some neat little extra bonus thing you can do but I was so wrong, it can be a game changing action, especially when the characters have a lot of power tiles. Those 2 things combined can lead to some very positive results. 4. I don’t have experience with the clock dice tower, but it looks like the dice don’t roll well, and I also saw a comment saying that you should probably not use it because it leads to weird results. Maybe you should try shaking the dice in your hands instead. So yeah, these were things I follow and hopefully will also help you with winning the game.
