Doesn’t stretch, doesn’t weight train, drinks beers before professional BJJ matches, feeds hungry kids and gives a shit about his fellow athletes- One of a kind
Drinks beers before BJJ matches? So he knocks back IPAs or stouts and then rolls around on the ground and gets choked etc.? I can't imagine this is in any way an improvement over sober. At least the people who use THC are getting some stretchiness, low blood pressure, and calmness of mind out of it - but beer? How many faces has he farted in and it smelled like a lagoon in the whole room?
@@bschmidt1nothing new about pro athletes drinking while performing. NBA, NFL, and MLB players would drink before games, during halftime and Babe Ruth drinking beer and smoking cigars in the dugout
@@William.H.Bonney With alcohol maybe the first 45 minutes you're getting stimulant effects, but after that you are just hurting any/all performance whether mental or physical. Cigars are a totally different ballgame - mostly chilled out effect as well.
Yes sir! I wouldn't have paid to watch it.. just different priorities, and I don't have Netflix or any pay to stream sites so count as one of the ones who will see it primarily because it's easily accessible. He's doing the right thing for sure
@@LivingBGLegend agree, I boycott flo streams but I do actually pay for fight pass and One. The fact that I can see high level matches on YT is mind blowing to me in a good way
You still think its going to be popular? The issue is jiujitsu is just boring for the casual fan. Its not fun to watch 2 guys roll around that cant punch each other. It took a 3million dollar donation to get it for free on youtube, with compensation to get people to compete. think about that, you think they are going to donate 3million every time? no

Joe's a writer... there's a difference from that and just being funny. Mark Normand is funny, Harland Williams is funny... they happen to be funny comics as well, but they don't turn off.
@@frewjitsu_funk83 he was literally only questioning the sustainability of it. You cant run an organization that loses millions of dollars every year and gives the revenues to charity.
"But ADCC is not profitable".. "ADCC has grown significantly, sold a lot of seat tickets & secured larger streaming deals... but have spent ALL of that additional revenue on production costs & larger venues... yet given nothing more to the athletes as the event has grown in popularity"... "yeh but ADCC's not profitable". Really surprising to see Joe's lack of support for this event and elite BJJ athletes pay.
Yep 💯 Production costs = corporate salaries. ADCC may not report a profit, that doesn't mean the athletes aren't being exploited.. Joe doesn't like this conversation because it's against his elitist world view.
The services he uses for podcasts and the ufc pay him large sums of money over time. So he might get paid 200k for his commentary work at the UFC. So he makes a million easy from the UFC, just not at one time but over the course of a year. He doesn't get 1 huge check, just multiple decent sized checks. When it comes to Spotify and these other companies he gets checks for, it's the same logic. He doesn't get paid 1 million per episode, he might get paid a couple hundred grand per episode. When he got the 100 million dollar deal that's 100 million dollars over the course of several years and they don't just sent it all out. It's given to him incrementally.
@@bane3991 Errrrrr, wrong. At least for the spotify deal, he was paid that in a lump sum both times. He's talked about it and had the option to be paid out over time or one lump sum and he chose the lump sum to pay the taxes on it and then have the equity available. Rogan has about $200,000,000 in the "bank". Likely in high interest yielding accounts that he doesn't touch and just lives off the interest. He needed all the money up front to open the mother ship.
@HonkletonDonkleton If it was easy than why are people in the comments posting that he got just gets lump sum sized checks? If people like the OP don't know this, it's not outrageous to let them know it's not like that.
TBF Joe himself doesn't understand what banter, and quick wit is. Ever. I'd say many Americans can, and do. Crazy that there are only 100 of him to make us laugh.

@@AidenMaiorana Many do, not everybody. Its like shoplifters saying everybody steals, does it make it better? Instead of promoting his personal doping he could have included doping tests to his tournament to make it a legitimate sport event. Now its just another freakshow. With all its problems the IBJJF is still the only respectable championship because it works with WADA/USADA.
Likable? How can you like someone who does something as unsportsmanlike as using PEDs? Now you say "PEDs are not against the rule..." then you might as well check if bribing the referee is mentioned in the rule or maybe threatening the opponents family? The rules cant cover everything, that's why real sports have a code of sportsmanship and PEDs are completely against it. I used to respect both Jones and Ryan, now they make me feel sick🤮.
Joe needs to read between the lines, all Craig has to do is make it the same date for one year to make ADCC bump the pay permanently, and the following years he can move the date of the events and ADCC can't go back on their pay increase
I was looking through comments to see if anyone else thought it was the zuck. Hate the dude but man maybe hes kinda cool if he wants to make a badass bjj tournament
Yea i mean i guess it makes up for his role in stealing everyones data, selling it to big everything, making people depressed and mentally ill, being a part of censorship, you people are so dumb he goes to UFC once and everyone gets on their knees, all sellouts
It takes on ADCC no matter the date, in fact, if it was on another date all ADCC fighters could try and do it, meaning the competition would be even better meaning it would have even more prestige
@hogsandstews Jones taste good? 3 failed ped tests. A loss to Reyes (look at where Reyes is now lol) in which he was gifted the win, held onto his HW belt while inured (sweet as he can fight the IC when he returns) an IC created, Aspinall wins, now he dodges the IC 😂 He's a joke.

yea i didn't get that. like Craig is saying just dont spend every dime on production... kick a little towards the athletes. like inflation is a thing yall, 10k isnt worth 10k anymore.
Why is it so hard for Joe to understand the longstanding issue with ADCC underpaying athletes? Keeps talking about how they don't turn a profit . . . bro it's the royal family of Abu Dhabi. Money is nothing to them and yet they still only pay $10k for first place.
Also, it depends what you mean by ‘profit’. Trillionaires don’t mean the same thing as the rest of the world. Middle Eastern emirates and dictators are sports washing for political reasons obviously, it’s of absolutely massive value to them. Rogan seems to have a child like view that this nice trillionaire is doing the world a favor with nothing in it for himself.
Strong argument for it, but some things that make it questionable: - streaming free on his competitor (Google/youtube) - proceeds going to Gaza (zuck is a J)
I agree with Joe - should’ve done it before ADCC not the same time, ADCC has a special and sacred place in grappling, crippling ADCC won’t help improve the sport
