Joe sits down with Max Holloway: a professional mixed martial artist competing in the Featherweight and Lightweight divisions of the UFC, where he is the current BMF Title holder. www.ufc.com/athlete/max-holloway
Max sounds like he is even better spoken in the past couple years. You have to love Max, can’t hate on him. He’s a genuine warrior and Hall Of Fame without a doubt.
Agreed. Good to know he'll be taking time off after this fight as well to recover. Fighters are a different breed of human, always willing to take immense risk for not much reward relative to the risk - Volk's mindset in accepting the Ilia fight is a perfect example of that. You have to respect them because they'll do what no one will. People need to hang around fighters or start training at an MMA gym to really understand what goes into it.
@@Onlybadtakes2589I know what you mean. If it wasn’t for Tyrone Woodley, Wonder boy would’ve been champ. Same goes for Woodley/Usman, Covington/Usman, & now Usman/Edwards. Everyone has their kryptonite. But yeah, Wonderboy definitely deserves a big moment & payday!
@808shortts I agree man. I started watching ufc towards the end of Chuck Lidell days. But even more into the rampage days... then Machida...silva....chael days. Fedor...Jones Etc etc.... but I was a kid. As a man you take in more and I agree Wonderboy is such a cool dude but also technically one of the best to ever step into the octagon.. who deserves his flowers 10x over.... Side note we're also so lucky to witness the last 10 years of ufc.. people say the chuck tito days wete the glory days and it was great. But I truly belive what we've gotten to see the last 10 years will never be topped. I'm also tipsy and rambling 😅
The levels to which Max embodies the "BMF" concept are immeasurable. However I gotta say, he himself questioning how the stats takers didn't score Justin a knockdown in that fight is possibly the most BMF thing he does in this awesome conversation. The dude is a killer and as humble as they get. Truly one of the greatest to ever do it in my opinion.
My 18 y/o son has just really gotten into watching ufc. This was the first fight we have watched together since he was a toddler. We havent been able to stop talking about it. Thanks to max and justin for giving us this moment that we will be reminiscing about for the rest of our lives.
@@MoodyMMA just checked to get more information. Looks like they renewed their deal but is no longer an exclusive show. So with this new deal he can upload on other platforms.
@@woahblackbetty7691 Jamahal Hill asking all those media ppl to back his excuses up even though u can tell he doesnt even believe the excuse when he said it
Max has the CRAZIEST highlight reel in UFC now. The absolute most iconic moments. The one where he yell "count it up!" And then now the pointing at the ground. Dudes a god in the octagon
A Justin getting his nose plastered to his face and still getting after it and even standing in the middle and trading at the very end … both those guys showed really did show what a true bmf is !! Only problem. Idk how they could ever get anyone badder then them … unless you have max fight jiri 😭🤣🤣
I loved that Max so easily said that he got cracked and knocked down by Justin, and that they made a mistake not counting it as a knockdown. Most guy’s egos wouldn’t allow a comment like that to leave their mouths. Props to Max.
Yeah, love how humble max is. Later on in the podcast he talks about how he also dislike sore winners as well as sore losers. Saying it’s unnecessary to talk trash after you win the fight since you don’t know what they had to go through to get there. Just a great guy. The best is blessed for a reason.
@@jatt7109 No. He just said that he's had very tough similar situations in previous fights and he knows he could've pushed through if given the chance. He literally got knocked out by a massive upkick against reyes and just carried on as normal
Bro him and his son's friendship brings tears to my eyes , im truck driver don't spend much time with my kid, and this dude is everything i ever wanted to be . Love this guy
UFC 300 had to be one of the greatest night of fights ever. Max had one of the greatest fights ever. Absolutely beautiful performance. Props to Max he deserves nothing but the best. I wanna see him smoke tuporia.

Slurred speech isnt really a sign of CTE, especially when his brain generally thinks pretty fast. He doesnt make much nidtakes speech wise or thought wise. Hes super fast up in the head @Dan-iz7qz
This guy speaks with such humility and honour for his peers. If his performances in the octagon weren’t enough this only adds to showing the level of person Max is.
Max didn't say a bad word about a single person this entire podcast. Nicest, genuine fighter we have the honor of being fans of. What an amazing human being. I can only hope to be that humble before the day I die.
Max and Tony's early days are where I jumped into the UFC, and followed both since, crazy how much better Max just keeps on getting. That knockout at the last second made 300 awesome!!
Max has been my favorite fighter for a while and at my job I literally call every dude at my job my brother and then they start saying it to others it really is the best response

@@twotwon4201ehhh not really, against Izzy the red stopped Izzy from being knocked out bad, he was not recovering, with Jiri he was legit unconscious for a couple seconds and would’ve ended with a brutal ground and pound like we saw with Jamal, and against Jamal he obviously kicked him out clean and it don’t matter about the ref stoppage, Jamal should protect himself at all times, as well as if Alex wasn’t hurt from the kick why would they stop it, if they really want to be concerned with that the ref should’ve gotten between the two and made it clear for the restart
@@nichola10901 In my book all of the stoppages were *fair* but I could've seen them go just a bit longer, particularly Jiri's. With Izzy I think it was a good stoppage but I can see why he protested. He insists he was looking down cuz he was watching out for a knee but who knows if that's true. With Jiri we've seen him get dropped like that before and survive, his recovery is very good and they hadn't established the position yet when Goddard stopped it, plus when asked about it Goddard said he stopped it because he "knew what Alex can do" which like i dunno I don't think your preconceptions of a fighter should affect when and how you stop a fight. That said it wasn't so early that I would call it super early, just that I probably wouldn't have minded seeing if Jiri could weather the storm like always does when he wins. Jamahal though is ridiculous, he threw the first punch after Alex waved the ref away, he has no leg to stand on at all saying it caused him to lose imo.
@@willcortez5buuuut… we don’t have to pay extra for ppv.. shite time to stay up to to watch the fights and now I’m older the social side of it has disappeared but we save a lot of money every month lol…
I’m in Spain. Haven’t missed a ppv in 7 years and my god it’s exhausting. Seeing Weaselmma talk about how crazy the Manchester cards time is….I laughed.
Obviously not as bad but the ufc really only cares for west coast time in the states. For east coast they often gotta stay up past 1 am to see the main event
