@@claudiog7692 Not even all the players in the masters are playing well past the mid game. It's not common. Even Ding won the World Championship pushing Ian further and deeper into the game instead of going for the draw. Yesterday's game against Giri was quite crazy, equal for a long time and gave chances to both sides, but today's game against Nepo is simply stockfish level. Accuracy for both players was 99%. It's as if only one of all the moves Ju made wasn't the first line of the engine. If these two very long and exhausting matches haven't worn her out yet, she should have a chance to beat van Foreest tomorrow. So far, he has lost two games with white, including one against a lower-rated opponent, and for Wenjun, a draw with black against an opponent with an over 200 elo higher rating could be a good injection of motivation. Well, fingers crossed and we'll see how far she can go.

I hope she picks up some points early as everyone will try to play 80 moves against her and that will make it hard work. She is a solid gm level player with lots of experience so will do outperform her rating I think.
@rowanmales3430
@rowanmales3430 7 месяцев назад
Yeah, I think a credible argument can even be made she is a little underrated in elo actually, not just experience as a GM. She plays a lot of women tournaments (naturally!) so a lot of the time the entire field will be significantly lower rated, which makes the elo calculation a bit unreliable as you always lose points for everything which isn't a win. The elo system doesn't work all that accurately when you are a statistical outlier (Magnus was the same back when he was upper 2800), though she does play open tournaments plenty of course.
