This video shows my refurbishment of the Ju88/Ju188 conversion which I built about seven years ago. It was originally finished as a reconnaissance aircraft of 1./Aufkärungsgruppe 33, but during the reworking of the model, it was changed to a bomber variant, operational with 1./Kampfgeschwader 2.
The Revell kit is very good and a sound basis for making this conversion; the AIMS conversion set is multi-media, largely comprising resin parts but also including a PE fret and vacuformed transparencies. The bombs and bomb racks were taken from the 1/32 scale Revell Ju88A-4 variant and the nose-mounted MG151/20 cannon is a resin accessory from Aires.
The work around installing the nose-mounted MG151/20 can be found at this address - forum.largesca... - and I appreciate this very helpful information being posted on that site.
Photos exist of the actual aircraft after being found abandoned by US troops at Bron, near Lyon, in eastern France in September, 1944. I hope you like the video.
