Run of the Mill might be an all-time underrated track for that time period. As you mentioned, it could fall into many different genres of the period. I love it when people discover this song that first came out now 50 yrs ago. I can't wait for you to discover so many tracks in the early discography, well before the popular tracks of British Steel and Vengeance. Thanks and enjoy!
When was the last time you heard a harmonica in a Judas Priest song???? I have heard some people put this album down, saying the songs were written before Rob joined the band, so they weren't "written for his voice" so it doesn't measure up to their later works. Personally, I love the whole album and I think Rob sounds awesome.
This album is absolutely underrated. This is definitely “proto-type” metal as are the next couple of albums. Some songs not so much but others you’re like “I can FEEL this” and if you know later metal you see how it connects. 🔥💯🔥🔥🔥 ‘Never Satisfied’ is a stand out but you’re right these aren’t classics still payed today. But they could resurrect Never Satisfied live and fans would be SATISFIED 🔥🔥🔥
My first introduction to Judas Priest was, Unleashed in the East, a live album. My very next purchase was Rocka- Rolla. I got to see J.P. in concert in Wurezburg, Germany in 1986. Run of the Mill is one of my top 5 J.P. songs.
I love the early days of JP. My older brother introduced me to the JP Rocka Rolla album when I was 9 in 1974 and I was hooked. My brother also saw them live before they made it big time
Run of the mill really makes me reflect on my life and the choices I've made as i get older(56) , one thing i can say is i have no regrets to anything I've ever done.
Halford in Anaheim I believe it was does a great updated version of Never Satisfied and Roy Z is on the lead there and imo it's the best part I've seen him play, goes on forever. But shows with updated tech how good that song really is.
As much as I love there new record and all of there music love rocking roller I wish they would do a setlist of there 70 s stuff a lot of great stuff there
