I'm clearly just a Tipton fanboy but he looks so cool chugging away at the this riff, focused and relaxed. The whole band's creating this giant wall of sound and he's just standing there all stoic-like, it really helps to show off his economy-of-motion style. GT is and always has been one of the greatest metal guitarists period.
Nicklas Sjödin if you look at it with a technical standpoint, this is practically Angel of Retribution. The whole verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-solo-chorus structure wasn't always in the Jugulator songs and so Demolition's return to this formula was a return to classic, 80's Priest.
well at one time people thought theyd lost touch from 82 onwards, there were probably fans who were young during their 70s period that disregarded painkiller as being bullshit. to me all priest is priest regardless. whether its sad wings, point of entry, turbo or nostradamus and eveyrthing in between
I get your point, but the main reason why this album and Jugolator is not seen as part of the "official" Priest collection is because of the near thrash metal sound they both had. I love trash metal so I really enjoy both of these albums but if you play these songs for a Priest fan that have never heard the Ripper era songs I think very few of them would be able to tell that this is Judas Priest from the sound.
And the logic behind this heavier sound I think has to do with the really positive reception of Painkiller which was much heavier sound wise than their earlier albums, so I think that they thought "hey lets keep going down that road".
This kicks ass as does ALL priest. I personally separate the two, the Ripper stuff is heavier, Halford is well, Halford, nuff said, and its badass too, just in a different way. So just enjoy the music for what it is......METAL.
its the song that sux, not the soundcheck sound or playing. generic boring wannabe thrash w/ singer trying to sound like rob zombie here. sux. and I love JP. just not this.
And they act like he is the cause of how "terrible" Jugulator and Demolition were (I personally love them), but they fail to understand that he had almost no part in writing the songs. That's why he started a solo project; so he would try his hand at songwriting. If they want to complain about the Ripper era, they better complain about Glenn and K.K. too, because they did most of the musical work.
Ripper fronted some decent thrash offerings from the Priest. But, he was NEVER a "Halford Clone", even though Priest offered him up to be one. Had Priest openly admitted that he was nothing like Rob, and that they "were moving in a new direction", people would've appreciated Ripper more.
THis shit is ripping , I remember I instantly hated Judas Priest minus Halford out of pure prejudice... 15/16 years later I´m listening to some incredible4 Metal music !
The whole Demolition album is extremely underrated and full of talented Headbanging Heavy Metal. Ripper Owens totally rocks and he deserves a way more credit than he has ever recieved. Glenn Tipton's production was top notch on this album.
+Carlos Alberto Hidalgo Moreno Yeah I know right that's why I don't really like them in this era because the music they were making with Tim Ripper Owens was very heavy, it is too heavy for me so I prefer them in the era with Rob Halford much better.
+Stephen Grbavac of course, Rob Halford as Frontman is unbelieve! its I love Judas Priest and Ripper season as them Vocals was fucking great, a lot of magazines did not give to him a real named as Judas Priest singer, i think was amazing. Regards!
Excellent! I wish they would have played this when I saw them. Ripper was a great replacement for Rob. When Rob came back his high register was gone completely and now his whole range is going. Sad but true, people do age.
I respect what Rob Hallford did for Judas Priest and Heavy metal in general, but this vocalist is simply amazing. Too bad (in some way) Rob came back. Long Live Heavy Metal.
Though I can do without the expletive (only because it seems forced) this is a killer song and riff! Very underrated. Best Ripper era song. Awesome 😎🤘🏻
@@NguyenDuong-eo2tb ironicamente hizo de algunos temas de jp clasico mas potentes o termino siendo el vocalista kk priest (2 temas potentes) ojala kk gire tocando ese material y parte jugulator y demolition.
God i miss him being in the band even though Rob Halford is the true metal god of this band! Who else thinks they should reunite with Ripper and do a ripper version of the band aswell as the Rob version at the same time, just like Black Sabbath did with original sabbath and Heaven and Hell?!!!
@gengszter01 What the hell are you talking about? All I said was that this song kind of sounds like it could be by metallica imo. And JP formed in 68 so around the time JP was 13 years old metallica was working on there first album. :)
