Yeah same thing with N.W.A. --- what they did socially and politically was rock and roll but the music ... the MUSIC isn't rock and roll and that should be the #1 prerequisite for consideration of RRHOF entry.
Judas Priest not being in the Rock N Roll Hall of SHAME is a credit to Judas Priest. Somehow, someway if WE The FANS of Metal should do a kick starter campaign to build The Hall of Metal Frame. ✌
Nah, metal is it's own tribute. Hard Rock/ Metal is the most enduring genre of music there is. What other genre has bands that last 40+ plus years? None. Glen Tipton is 70! Still writing legit music and touring the world. Priest doesnt need the Rock and Roll hall of lame, thats for bullshit like The Clash.
They ditched Ripper because they would always make more money with the Metal Fraud on vocals. Bottom line is JUGULATOR with Ripper is one of the best albums they ever released, the tour was sold out virtually every show, they released a live album and I never met JP fan that did not like Ripper. The second album suffered from bad writing. I will take Jugulator over every JP album that has been released after 1985. Think I care what you think? I will never be one of those pathetic people running around calling him "Oh Metal God." That sounds childish and pathetic. This JP song sounds cool, better than some of the stuff recently. Bottom line for me, I rather have Ripper and KK in the band. Also, keep this in mind...Iron Maiden sells more records, has done bigger tours, more acclaimed songwriting and artwork than JP...Bruce is MUCH better than the Metal Fraud and I do not care what YOU think. Oh yeah, Iron Maiden sells out Arenas, Judas Priest does not and half the arenas they play a curtain has to cover half of the arena. All that being said, I will gladly support JP and buy this album, the song sounds good. I have ever JP album..I love them but I love them because of the music not because "The Metal Fraud" has to hit a high note just to hit the high note. Now I will listen to "BURN IN HELL" and "Cathedral Spires"
Maiden is still just as good IMO, Priest and Maiden are one of very few from that era who have made it this far and still retained what made them so special in the first place
Well said, @D Wright - METALHEAD! Luckily there are bands who emerged from the 80's who are still on the top of their game! Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Accept, RIOT, Saxon, Overkill and Queensryche to name a few. ;)
I totally DO like the fact, Joe praises the new am. Firepower. He stares at that album cover kinda Christians are looking at the statue of Jesus Christ. Yep, this album is that perfect.
the fact that they are not in the rocknroll hall of fame makes me sick. They have more damn albums and hits than any other band arguably between rock and metal. They are amongst the greats with kiss, rolling stones, beatles, motorhead, etc etc in my opinion. The hall of fame is great and all.... cough cough... there should be a metal hall of fame, which I always wondered why there was not....
Classic bands like JP, needs a producerrr, a grrreat and cleverrr producerrr that underrrstand the escence of theirrr sound to not just update it, but improve it, like has happend to Accept or even Rush, and thats the trick behind good or great albums. Hope this is the case.

Metal Drum Covers 1989 ya nothing’s more interesting than a drummer talking about playing 4/4 and hitting big and small cymbals. Riveting stuff. Drummers don’t write music unless they add lyrics music or melody. Drummers are the number one replaceable members in bands. Priest are on like their 4th.
