Give Joe Bowen credit that call on an opposing teams goal was still electric, that’s a good commentator right there and then roasting Samsonov 😂

It was a good call, but I thought he was too critical of Samsonov, especially for a play-by-play announcer, regardless of how decorated and beloved he is. If goalies are going to be criticized like they after giving up two goals in more than three periods of hockey then we're officially back in the Dead Puck Era.

Come on, now. Bowen's call was "electric?" Not even close. It wasn't expected to be for a Bruins goal any more than if Jack Edwards was calling a Leaf OT winner. Those days of broadcast impartiality are long gone.

@@brianshaughnessy4020I agree. Absolutely ridiculous to blame Samsonov and actually an easy scapegoat. Easy to criticize when they’re sitting in a broadcast booth. The speed at which Pastrnak came in was incredibly fast. Really unfair to put that goal on him when Rielly was out to lunch.

Love Judd Sirott going all the way back to his Chicago Wolves games over 20 years ago. He had some memorable calls in Chicago. "He shoots, touchdown!" as the Wolves took a 7 to 0 lead over Houston.

Everyone knows that Joe Bowen is the biggest homer on the radio but just for fun I compared his OT call of Pasternak's goal to his call of the first Leaf goal when he was so over the top thinking the Leafs had won the series. I'd have more respect for the guy if he just admiited that the Leafs lost to a better team AGAIN and not blame Samsonov. But I know that'll never happen because he's been peddling the Maple Leaf kool-aid for years!!!

Can't stand Joe Bowen. Not surprised he instantly blamed the Leafs loss on Samsonov. Couldn't possibly have been due to another sub-par performance from his Leafs Nation's beloved 'core four' 🙄.
