No he didn’t Errol Flynn was Australian and had an Australian accent for some reason the dude in the role and gave him an English accent does not make sense at all
I love how they show how little Flynn gave a fuck about anything. Hughes's inappropriate behavior doesn't phase him; Hepburn's obvious disdain for him doesn't phase him, and brawling in the middle of a high society restaurant was just par for the course. ...you know that's exactly what Flynn would have been like.
Interesting performance from talented Jude Law in the role of Errol Flynn..it makes us realise how much we miss Errol 's sense of fun and sheer joy of living..excellent portrayal from Jude Law in a small role which could not possibly show Errol's complex personality but fascinating and an outstanding performance. Thanks for the posting!!
1:20 I like this scene and felt sorry for him. Hes so glad to have his meal and is getting all ready to eat, then this jackoff takes a pea off his plate and sets off his OCD. He looks so disgusted and anxious that he looks like hes about to leap from the table if he wasn't holding the back of his chair to keep him in place.
Us too, lol! We once went to a community Big Band dance and no one was dancing, except these people who took all these professional classes. Everyone else was just sitting around, too intimidated to get onto the dance floor themselves. My husband and I said, "Screw it, the music and the dance floor belongs to everyone." We went out there, made fantastic fools of ourselves, laughed ourselves silly and had a grand time.
Its funny also that this is the 2nd time Errol Flynn is mentioned in a Scorsese movie, in Taxi Driver he is mentioned to Travis by one of the other drivers by trying to give him a piece of Errol Flynns bathtub.
Why o why can't Hollywood make a movie about the one and only Errol Flynn, he crammed ten lifetimes into his own very short life ...forget Howard Hughes, Errol Flynn was a man way before his time
@@nenabunena Your referring to 'My Wicked, Wicked Ways' which I have and love, he definitely was a man before his time. Insidently it was made into a t.v. movie in 1985 staring the good looking guy who played Zorro on t.v. in the early nineties, Flynn's life story deserves the big screen treatment
@peterfranks6243 I haven't seen that one yet but I watched the film in flynn which I felt didn't really do very well in capturing flynn nor making it a good film. Is the TV film better? It's on yt
Adam Scott has more talent than I gave him credit for! From this, to Parks and Recreation, all the way to The Vicious Kind -- he has a lot of talent and I hope he decides to take on more dramatic roles in the future :)
+Ali Faris Yeah lol I'm kinda late to the party. Still, I firmly believe that he is a fantastic actor who has the capability to take on a wide range of roles! I'd love to see him in more dramatic roles :)
I love to watch Flynn in this clip but the bandleader dancing is the real treasure, he does almost the same thing in "Big Fish", he has an amazing face
Well actually it's only like that from almost the beginning till about after he flys the racer. But still, it is a great film! I haven't seen too many of his films, but he is so well regarded, it's amazing that he finally won the Best Director Oscar just last year.
Flynn was a controversial figure, far from perfect in many ways and one of the most complex characters I have ever studied. His dark side, mentioned on here is well documented, Alcohol, Drugs, Teenage girls, Brawling and a reckless thirst for adventure, all of which sent him to an early grave. However his surviving daughters remember, when they saw him, a doting father. Nobody will ever light up an Adventure movie like he could,Charlie Sheen eat your heart out, your movies will not be Classics
I miss typed my comment. My friend told me this was a very good movie and she was right. She had to watch it in her Psychology studies and said the OCD elements were very well acted and portrayed. Great acting.
I think Jude steals the show!! Aside from Cate, of course. Then again, I don't know much about Hughes, so I can't compare them. But that certainly does seem exactly like Errol Flynn!
I'm not sure about the peas, but the blue color came from the lighting of the camerawork I believe. Martin Scorsese filmed each period in this movie using the film design from that year. Earlier color films had a more blue hint at that time. As the movie goes on into later years, the camerawork gets brighter and more vibrant.
Flynn led such an interesting Wild life, a proper film on him in Australia and png should be made. Also lol he fought and got into so many brawls, he really is a Tasmanian devil!
@MrsVictoriaFlynn The emphasis was on Howard, not Errol or Kate Hepburn, which meant the screenwriter took factual histories and made them dramatically appealing.
and Gang of New York (I'm fan of Daniel Day Lewis work) and that was final film for me, but my husband like Aviatar. The Departed has good reviews and I saw original and it was good movie. If you like Leonardo I think you will enjoy all of them.
I did not mean to insult & was referring to an era when some English sounding accents were referred to as Colonial. Many years ago I met an old Tasmanian called John, who sad that the old Hobart accent sometimes sounded English but has largely vanished over the years. He went to school with Flynn & told me Flynn was a fun rascal. J.Law sounded too English. I should have stated that 'Colonial' was often how Errol's accent was described in the 30's, no offence was intended, especially to Errol.
@RoxxtheOldies2 he was never convicted, all I can remember is that the case was thrown out because of either insufficient evidence and the witnesses kept changing their stories and their minds about what happened and if anything did, in fact, happen. It's been a while since I've read about it so I can't remember exactly but it was a very confusing case.
I'm reading his book and he was thrown off a ship for brawling and trying to sleep with another man's wife. On the same day he was thrown off, he got into another fight where his guts was sliced open. After he was hospitalized and released, he got into another ship and was again thrown off for brawling again. Sure enough, he got into another brawl on the port he was thrown off on. Lol, he is hilarious!
Dear Katherine are you REALLY BORED sitting on the same table next to ERROL FLYNN the most legendary adventurer ever to set foot upon this planet???😂😂😂
sheryl: If it isn't dead then how come it took you 3 months to respond? I don't see any recent comments that are arguing. I'd actually rather see people argue about these kind of things as opposed to politics, it just gets so damn personal.
