Because in New York State anyone convicted of second degree murder, if their victim is under 14 years old, can be sentenced to life without parole. But he choose to give 25 to life. The judge also could have had the sentences run consecutively so he has to serve more than 25 years, but he chose not to do this as well.

Judges are only human. And trial judges typically aren't supposed to show any emotion one way or the other. But when it comes to the harming or killing of a child, I've seen judges work hard to hold themselves back from doing something to the convict. The best they can do is slam them verbally. And this trial judge does it perfectly: "Good luck with that."

Our best friends lost a two year old grandchild at the hands of a babysitter. That man almost killed his twin sister as well. She was life flighted to the hospital and barely survived. They were horribly sexually abused as well. The judge did exactly what this judge did. Made sure to put him into a section of prison where he will get the treatment he dished out every single day!!! Sweet justice! Much better than the death penalty! Poor innocent babies.

I’ve been in prison, all the inmates in your unit at the very least know where you are from, and what you are in for, before you step foot in the unit. If the case is high profile enough, then the entire prison knows. They have nothing but time on their hands, so they gossip a lot

Info that I had is no one has to make it known - the people on the unit will remade your paperwork when you get there. You don’t produce and they assume the worst anyway

What do you know about the criminal world? Nobody plays by those rules anymore as you can see

In low to mid sec, people likely wont know who you are, why you are in, and conflicts are low... you won't necessarily need to align with groups.. just keep your head down. In high sec and max sec, assuming you arent in the SHU, you're in with lifers and guys who dont give a fuck.. Lethal violence is the norm, not just a beating. No one has anything to lose, and many are trying to find some point to their life... "Badass who has a rebel code" is actually a viable survival technique. Add to that the fact that the high level of violence means not alligning with a group is at best a torture sentence, at worst a death sentence, and the groups have significant power. If that group has a street presence as most do... they wont want chomos and kiddie killers in the ranks. You'll receive protection as someone's bitch, or you'll get stuck eventually. It's not like TV makes it out to be, and many chomos dont get assigned to high/max sec, and those that do often end up in protective housing in the SHU [solitary], but a kiddie killer like this in max is either in for a pokey day or a pokey day, be it a dick or a shank.

I promise you, the inmates that have done this crime have to either try to get to high security cells (which is extremely rare and more cramped usually 5x8 and 7 feet high), or they lie about why they are in jail in the first place. Vast majority do the last option but it takes only one correctional officer to fuck all that up for them. Also people on the outside can look you up on public info for why you went to jail. So they often try to say they’re in jail for something harmless that would reflect their sentence so that it erases all suspicion.

The guards usually dont, what happens is everyone whoever gets locked up gets visited by the shotcaller for the gang of what race the person is and demands their documents to see what theyre locked up for. Once they find out what this dude did hes either going to be shanked and killed within a year, or used as a human fleshlight.

Both can happen, my second bid while I was in reception I was celled up with a random guy that was telling me he was locked up for drugs. I thought nothing of it but he got in trouble with the cops on our way to chow and they took him to the hole and when I got back to the cell they came to get his stuff and the guards flat out told me he was in their for rape of a 7 yo. I never seen him after that but found out he went to medical for a multitude of injuries later that night.

I always always say this. How many times has a situation like this happened and CPS is never held accountable. It’s disgusting. They’re putting children in the hands of abusers and are leaving them helpless until something unfortunate happens.

Who else you want hold accountable. The person that runs the FBI clearance, or maybe the person that runs the state clearance, or maybe someone like me that does the drug and alcohol, and mental health evaluations.
