Take a look in your favorite Book at Phillipians 4:8-9 and try as hard as you can to show a little encouragement, even for people who don't follow your Debbie Downer "perspective". I have a sneaking feeling that your Lord approached and received people of every background with an eye to encouraging them even if they did not see him the way you do. There is another verse in the Bible that says "As a man thinks, so he is" indicating to me that positive or negative thinking is VERY important in a person's life. Say what you want, I will not be looking back for your response. You have nothing to say that interests me.

Exactly. I've never had a drug, alcohol or cigarette addiction but, I would absolutely hate to have to try to give up milkshakes and payday candy bars. I don't think I would succeed

I love that she's so excited for someone that is doing what they should. I always see her being so upset and angry with people. But I love that this woman was honest and was ACTUALLY HONEST. Happy Judge Boyd is rare but amazing

Thank you for posting this. A lot of the courtroom clips that get posted are the most outrageous or viscerally entertaining moments, which can give a false impression of people caught up in the criminal justice system. Clips like this remind us that overwhelming majority of people charged with crimes are ordinary people who may have made poor decisions.

Refreshing. The Judge was really happy for the defendant in the first case. She was genuinely happy for her being clean and sober. You can tell that Judge Boyd was proud of her for being clean. She wants what’s best.

The 2nd lady, with the ex-military husband. I feel so bad for her. I feel like shes talking to my sisiter in law about my brother. Those multiple deployments really injur those guys. Physically, mentally and emotionally. I pray her husband gets better with therapy and counseling. Im glad she has weapons and the judge didnt remove them. She needs to be to keep her and her daughter safe. I pray for all of them. That life isnt easy or fun usually. Shes standing by him but i hope sbes happy as well!

It’s very nice to see Judge Boyd make such a showing of happiness and support for the lady and the clean drug test. I can’t imagine any defendant ever expecting such a supportive reaction from a judge during a sentencing. The personalized support must have been a confidence boost for the defendant. I think the judge should carve little hash marks into the edge of her bench for every clean test that she gets back. Despite the title of the video, the lady's reaction when she learned that she had to take the test had me concerned.

I’ve heard in a couple of court cases that it’s the worst drug theyve seen so far as it’s so addictive. Apparently the first time you try it your addicted.

Couples counseling in cases of domestic violence is nationally recognized as endangering the victim. Programs that are funded by federal grants from US DoJ Office on Violence Against Women are prohibited from offering or requiring couples counseling. I’m shocked that Judge Boyd is directing this.

ONE DAY AT A TIME - That is the life of a recovered addict; as long as we do the recovery work we need to do, we get a daily reprieve from the lashes of active addiction.

For the second case, I’d probably order a thorough medical examination as well, given the defendant’s age. While the chances are fairly small, certain illnesses, such as a brain tumor, can cause sudden bouts of outward anger or rage. Just to at least rule that out.
