Here is my instrumental version of "Over The Rainbow" which was written by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Yip Harburg for the 1939 film "The Wizard Of Oz" and sung by the actress Judy Garland, later becoming her signature song. It has gone on to be covered by many artists such as Eva Cassidy and Jeff Beck. This arrangement is by the UK band The Nightriders
I played this using my Fender Stratocaster (Middle Pickup) with the Zoom G2.1Nu (EFTP Patch A9). Recording was done via USB to my home PC with Cubase
The backing track for this version was created by Ernie Lamprell and is available for purchase here - strat-trax.co.u...
I also used tablature written by Phil McGarrick which is available as a free download here - www.philmcgarri...
I hope you enjoy my version of this evergreen classic
LYRICS:
Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow, Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true...
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow, blue birds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow, why then, oh why can't I?
If happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?
