Yea, I was waiting to see if she would mention Sara Rose as she went down the list of grandchildren she had, and to my surprise Sara Rose was the little one-year-old in the back. It would have been epic if Judy brought her on camera. Be interesting to say she had her on-screen debut as one-year-old in a cameo on the Rosie O'Donnell Show. Haha
It was intriguing to hear the longer, extended version of her account of calling the People's Court. I think she forgot all those details as she got older because I have only heard a much more abridged account of that story from her since I first started following her the early 2000s. She described the story as reaching out to the People's Court and asking to preside over that show, being rhetorically asked if she is crazy and hung up on. But until this interview, I had no idea she was at a restaurant and stumbled into someone from the industry proposing if she'd be interested in a court show. It made sense because shortly before that she was in the New York Times from that article and was working on filming the 60 Minutes documentary. She probably was discussing that when the person from the industry heard her talking about it at the restaurant and suggested she call the show. Where Judy went wrong was asking the first person who answered the phone. Like Rosie said, I think she should have asked to speak with someone in charge. And LMBO @ Judge Judy's final crack "I've figured out why men watch. They say to themselves what I got at home isn't quite so bad." HAHAHAHAHAHA Too funny.
Yes, I love that Rosie was quiet and let her talk. Too many interviewers talk too much, like Kelly Clarkson and that's where things go wrong. You have to let the interviewee finish their stories and take the spotlight and Rosie did great allowing Judy to finish. A lot of interviewers lack this skill.
I so enjoyed watching her throw people out. I also loved that diamond channel ring that she wore for many years (I think it might have been stolen.) I wonder what happened with Byrd?
It’s really weird. I remember she was way younger than Judy Justice, and she had a lot of sass but I don’t remember her like this even those books mentioned were the 2 books I bought lol.
This was before Judge Judy had all the plastic surgery. She got all that work done because she was trying not to make beauty fade. But I have to say Cheri Oteri was brilliant as Judge Judy on SNL. Far more than Judy herself ever was.
