Fortified wine is any kind of wine with distilled spirits added; most often grape brandy into grape wine. Common brands were "Thunderbird"..."Gallo"...Ripple"..."MD 20/20" and a few others. MD 20/20 is made by Mogen David...a Jewish outfit. We called it "Mad Dog Twenty-Twenty" because it would get you as drunk as a rabid dog. As I recall, back in the 60's you could buy a pint of T-bird for 60 cents. In certain circles, if you had a couple pints of Thunderbird in your pocket you could make a lot friends, really fast. Roseanne CANT be racist, and if people actually watched ROSEANNE, she spoke abt racism, she had an episode where she made her son kiss and black girl in the school play, which later he MARRIED and had a child with in the Conners.
