wow so helpful. thank you. do you think I can sew through layers of denim with stabilizer, pockets, lining and straps? I make denim bags that have layers and using a basic domestic machine is killing my arms and the depth makes it impossible at times.
Nice video! May I ask if this model is ok also to sew some small booklets? I already do with a vintage machine so I guess with this one is possible as well. The thickness of the booklets is no more than half centimeter. Thanks in advance
How many pins this juki machine.. I have this new machine but it have only 2 pins neutral and phase.. it don't have earthing pin so it's shock when I touch the metal
Question: Does this machine has the ability to keep the needle down, while I adjust to keep sewing along without having to keep bringing the needle down? I'm not sure if I'm making any sense to you.. lol
Oh boy, the 8100e comes up again. Well, ya know how car manufacturers will often make a super base model, that they don't even advertise, but they want to catch the lowest possible entry point for purchases? Yeah, well this is that machine. It is a Juki, but it's not even listed on Juki's website as an industrial machine. They seem to keep it around as a little secret. If you want the absolute lowest cost on a Juki, that's it. That said, we've never even seen one in person, much less tested it out. So, we can't really speak to it's performance and reliability. The 8700 is not made in Japan. It is made is different Juki factories in China, Taiwan, and Vietnam, following the same Juki standards they have in Japan.

No, this DDL-8700 is made for light to medium weight. You will need a walking foot machine for canvas and upholstery. The smallest machine you will want to look at is the Juki DNU- 1541S which can be found here www.cutsew.com/Juki-DNU1541S-Walking-Foot-Sewing-Machine
@@Lmobe The lightweight leather might be okay on this straight stitch machine. However, where you may experience problems is in the corners of the bag, where the material is bunched up. I've never personally tried to sew the project you're describing on this 8700, but it might be possible.
@@CutSew is cotton canvas okay to sew on this machine? I am currently in the process of returning my Sailright fabricator and looking for a new machine. I am still new to sewing and I mostly work with organic cotton and thread. My Sailright kept breaking my thread so I will not be keeping it since it breaks delicate threads.
