The one reason the girl gives that the guy is a douche is that he dumped her long distance. Wow. Never elaborates at all on anything else he did or said that would classify him as such a low form of human being. And as I've seen other people say in the comments, he helped get her out of trouble with immigration (by verifying her story), allowed her to come to his home and stay the night after they argued about their relationship when he clearly didn't want to see her (seeing as he dumped her via skype long distance), and then used HIS money to pay for a one way ticket back to the States, which I'm sure wasn't cheap. Without presenting any other pieces of evidence, I don't see how she can claim that this guy is a douche. I mean, the guy lived in the UK and she lived in LA for Christ's sake. And from what she said, I don't think they were engaged, so why is it douchey for someone who lives literally thousands of miles away to break up with their partner via skype? At least he had the decency to do that rather than a phone call or a text (of course I'm assuming this skype call included face chat and not just audio, as is implied when someone says skype call). To be fair, maybe she was saying he was a douche sarcastically, but if she was, she wasn't doing a very good job of it. Or of being self-deprecating. It seemed more like she just wanted to tell a story and get people's sympathy. And since she was saying she thought he was "the one", I would assume that she loved him a lot before he broke up with her, so there couldn't have been much major douchery on his part beforehand. And all that stuff about romantic comedies and Bridgette Jones just made me sick. Really? I hope to GOD she was actually being sarcastic and self-deprecating about that, because if she wasn't, then that's pretty pathetic. And don't think I'm saying this stuff just because she's a woman. If a guy got up on that stage and told a similar story about how a girl broke up with him long distance and he tried some desperate, hail-mary attempt to win her back while calling her a bitch (or some other vulgar word guys use for women) outright and not offering any evidence as to how she was behaving as such, I would consider that guy pretty pathetic.

This is both hilarious and extremely scary, at many different levels.

I wouldn't call her a "lovesick girl from LA who wants to live her romantic comedy". And the guy was nice enough to explain the story to the immigration officers, to talk to her afterwards about how she wasn't the one and buying her a plane ticket back to the US from England for the next day which was probably very expensive. He's not a douchebag, he's a good guy, many others would have considered her a stalker and want nothing to do with her. He broke up with her on Skype, but she was in California and he was in England, it's not like it was easy to break up in person. She was absolutely crazy.

Ooof-- something like this happened to me. Left for college across country, and then a month later, the girl I had been seeing for about a month shows up at my residence, proclaiming her undying love for me. She stalked me for a year.

I'm grateful for her doing this bit, so I know to stay FAR, FAR away from her and never date her.
