Before she became a major star with "Pretty Woman" (1990) Julia Roberts made her first ever appearance on Late Night with David Letterman on November 3, 1989 to promote the ensemble comedy-drama "Steel Magnolias".
To go from a 22 year old on low-fi TV in 89 to icon status in HD some 25 years later, and not lose a moment of respect and the world’s love, is quite an accomplishment..
I wish i was a hollywood actor and invited to one of these late night shows. Then go back to my hotel room, drink wine and fall asleep knowing that i've a long shooting day tomorrow.
shes sooo beautiful here, still is, but this is ray of light beauty here, and shes a nice gal, watch her inside the actors studio interview you can't help but love her.
The Academy Awards aired within days of Pretty Woman being released. I'm sure she wasn't too upset when she lost Best Supporting Actress for Steel Magnolias, Pretty Woman was a hit that weekend.
Pretty Woman came out on March 23rd of 1990. This was early November so it's likely they were nearly done or done. Most likely the latter. It takes a while for a film to be prepared for release after it's done filming
anne, rumor has it that you are a nasty little loser gossip consumed by narcissistic jealousy. If you look at Julia's Robert's entire professional and personal arc, you will she that she is admired and respected by pretty much everybody.
@@colin5196 Ohhhh shut up what a clown you are, all Anne said was that she was a nasty piece of work "according to rumors". She wasn't giving her personal opinion, she was talking about what rumors said. And even if she did give her personal opinion and thought JR was a bitch, to each their own why are you so pissy about it? Who designated you the Julia Roberts image defender? And FYI, according to media reports and people accounts she WAS a bitch many times. Google her onscreen experience with Nick Nolte when shooting I Love Trouble. Google her difficulty when on the set of Hook, where the crew nicknamed her "Tinkerhell" and also what Spielberg said of working with her on that film. There are other well known instances of her professional poopiness, but these are the major ones. Her personal life is where there are much more examples. Where do I start? How about dumping Kiefer Sutherland just mere days before their wedding and skipping town to Ireland for a getaway with Kiefer's best friend Jason Patric? Or how bout dating (her now husband Danny Moder) while he was still married and essentially killing his marriage? Or leaving long time bf Ben Bratt to date Moder? Or the suicide note left by her half sister Nancy Motes where she described how terrible JR treated her? So chill before you stupidly call people out, cause the stuff you dismiss as "gossip" and "narcissistic jealousy" is actually pretty factual shit about JR and how she treated people. So no, she isn't respected by everybody. And this is coming from a huge JR fan that was obsessed with her acting and more so her beauty growing up.
