I know you're not going to believe me but I called it . Pena kept saying I'm going to do this this and this .. and Amanda just kept saying I'm better than you .. OK but what are you going to do with that? That always sends up red flags to me .. like Moreno figgy 2 all of Brandon's excitement came from how his camp worked on improvements from day one his camp was about improvement and figgy was focused on the fact that he had a good camp .. figgy Brandon 3 had figgy being the one who came in talking about improvements ( I get that a lot of people scored it different ) I just put a lot on the mentality of fighters
Seeing the bodycam footage of Pena getting arrested for assaulting a club bouncer, I can tell that Pena literally can't feel fear, shes a psycho like Jon Jones. She is fortunate to have found a career where her unique traits give an advantage.
@@sp123 Yeah she is fearless. I'm not gonna pass any judgement on her because I don't know her personally, but it seems she's a bit wild and aggressive. But at least she's not cheating in the sport like Jones. I'm not a Jones hater, I hope the guy can deal with whatever he's got going on... but it's no secret that he is a cheater.

Keep it going Joe. Love your show and even if I don’t always agree on things, the fact you have so many types of people on here makes this show great. Glad you stood up to the mainstream media.

i am impressed not just about her confidence, the winning, but in every interview she has good chosen words to convey. she can be a good TV commentator for any UFC matches
I was thinking the same thing. Intelligent, well-spken, and charismatic. I would love to hear her commentate. (And she's from my hometown, so I'm a bit bias too, ha!)
I highly recommend watching this podcast in full, she talks about her 13 year struggle in length and they even talk about how peña does commentary for another organization! Great podcast honestly that very rarely strayed from MMA.
Before the fight I didn't even dream that Amanda could lose. And Juliana made her look like she didn't want to be in there. One of the more impressive wins in the UFC
*Juliana made her look like she didn't want to be in there* I think it's because she didn't want to be there. Nunes didn't like Nunes in this fight at all, like she allready retired in her mind and just fulfilling the conract..

I think he’s more so referring to the way the others girls have fought with Amanda… they were all “fighting scared” point fighting or defensive fighting instead of getting up in her face for heated exchanges with the exception of Cyborg who simply got caught in their exchange. Valentina didn’t pressure or dominate Amanda the way she has done everyone else she fights. Her approach to Amanda is always heavy on counter striking, never being the one to control the fight, which shows you that she knows she can’t approach Amanda in a dominant fashion so she has to wait and let Amanda lead the fight… in other words (fighting scared)

So what happened a year ago that he needed support for? As far as I know, Rogan was then as now an un controversial American favorite. Everyone loves Joe Rogan.
When Pena says something, you can tell she fully believes in what shes saying. Its not just for the promotion of the fight etc. Its her speaking from the heart.
The way she describes her financial problems with the UFC as a champion, sums up perfectly the problems that all champions have been trying to say for years now. Their time as a champion, making real life changing money, is limited. Hence, the reason why Ngannou isn't going to keep putting up with their crap anymore.
If she was making as much money as Ngannou, she would be the happiest person on earth. I think she is earning way way less than that. I mean, Ngannou turning down $600k for a fight... She need to establish himself as a champ though, had to won the rematch.
Sell fights, make money, this is proven not just by Mac, but by Diaz brothers, Masvidal, Holland, Khamzat, Colby, this is brutal sport, being humble and kind is just do not sell. Don't tell me that you were huge fan of Colby up until his trash talk flew out in Maia fight, even GSP worked on his media appearance. You are watching big events not because of how good or bad fighters is, but because someone sold it to you in the main card. But even if fighter is in the main card he need to help matchmakers with their personality and grow anticipation with actions or words going into the fightweek, at the end of the day Champs making, correct me if I'm wrong, 3.75 $ per watch from ppv, so champ pay is really on them, sell 500k ppv-get almost 2 mill, can't do that? Oh then get paid less, cause event cost money, all that shit that goes into preparation, press conferences etc is costing ufc big money, and y'all remember 2020 when every mma promotion dropped a lot of workers and not popular fighters to safe some money? UFC didn't get rid of a single soul in the entire roaster up until it all started to open up a little bit and you are still saying that ufc owes someone something, it's just ridiculous. P.s. if it's so easy to pay 1 mill to every fighter, why don't you just start your own promotion, get investors for this, find a place, hire stuff? It's easy to talk the talk, but just Dana have some balls to walk the walk
@@ishmael802 if Nganou vs Ciryl sells at least 500k ppv Nganou will have 2+ mill as the champ is given 3,75 per view And come on, matchmakers give them both a wonderfull fighter betrayed his own coach backstory, and Nganou instead of giving this story some fire was just bragging about money, while it was all on him to bring more people to watch the fight. Just watch what Masvidal and Colby will do to sell the fight an after that look how much they'll earn of that( and they're not champs)

Joe, I came back here to YT to tell you, "Do not apologize for having Dr. Malone and Dr. McCullough on your show. " Why would you? It's ridiculous to think that those two doctors would be excluded from public conversation, given their extensive background and experience. They are not fringe doctors by any stretch of the imagination. My first question for your detractors in these two cases would be, "What misinformation is being distributed by you?" Tell us SPECIFICALLY what they are saying that is false. The answer is there are no falsities. They are either opinions or verifiable facts. There's a reason they don't specify what "misinformation" is being distributed. I also understand your inclination to have opposing views about this subject, but in my humble opinion, you do that already but understand why you're pushing for it. This is not what a free country does. This should concern EVERYBODY as far as the canceling and destroying of people's lives that disagree with the left. Because that's where this is mainly coming from. God help us all.
I'm so glad she got humbled walking around everyone like they owed her an apology, her record next to Amanda's and Amanda's accomplishments are nothing, she got lucky. We all know Amanda was not out of COVID long enough, plus we see now the difference because Amanda beat the FUCK out of her. Fair play she didn't stay down and fought to the end, that earned her more respect if you ask me than the way she acted after winning the 1st fight.

@@shubhammitra99 the comment didn’t specify male or female. I agree but PERSONALLY i think it’s nunes v cyborg. Nunes has been beat plenty times before. Cyborg first fight was a defeat and since then she’s been unstoppable. The ufc devision was created JUST for her. Anyone whose followed female mma from the start know she’s by far the most dominant fighter ever. In fact the previous featherweight champ had to vacant her belt cos she was too scared to fight her🤣I don’t think thats ever happened before
On paper it was an upset. Nunes had problems with training after having Covid and it showed. She gassed wayyyy too quick. Her crying during the walkout gave it away for me. After seeing that I knew she was going to lose.
I can still tap into the emotions I was feeling when she was landing jab after jab and beating Nunes. Hands on my head saying "Oh my god, oh my god..." my face: 😮🤯 The literal unbelievable was happening in real time and I was witnessing it. No one thought she had a sliver of a chance to win and it was so crazy to watch her do it.
Exactly my thoughts. The only other time I can remember feeling like that in a fight was years and years back when Chael Sonnen was beating up Anderson Silva cause up and till that point nobody even touches Silva and chael was lighting him up I was standing up going omg this can’t be happening 😂😂. I don’t know if you saw that fight live but it was incredible.
I literally bet on her AND Oliveira to win. It all seemed really fishy. Even her post fight interview and press conference the way she explained everything was suspect. Nunes definitely took an L for a massive paycheck on purpose. Those odds were too juicy to not take a dive. She probably made more off that than any fight she's ever won as champ.
It was crazy, but Valentina is about to crush her again to be double champ. Her moment was great, nobody can take that, but she won't defend her title, anyone in the top 5 beats her easily.
She talks such a big game but if you look at her resume, it doesn’t exactly scream one of the best. Also Ronda didn’t cut the line, she earned a title right after all her defenses. Now Juliana is gonna do exactly what she was complaining about Ronda and cut the line.
I’m so happy for juliana, there’s only been 5 bantamweight womens champions ever so she’s one of the legends! I was defo on the edge of my seats while I was watching. Compared to Carla vs Rose which was supposed to be iconic but was one of the worst title defences in history!
Juliana Peña beating Amanda Nunes was the closest to a Rocky movie I’ve ever seen in MMA. I am super inspired by her courage, guts and execution of a solid game plan. When she said, “…I’ll fight Fedor..” I was crying laughing. 🤣🤣🤣💪💪💪
Remember when everyone was expecting Rousey, 9-0 a bronze medalist judo fighter, to just mop the floor with Holly Holm, a 38-2-3 pro boxer and 12-0 pro kick boxer, just because she had more UFC wins in a division that had been around for like a year? If I had money to gamble on that fight I woulda been able to pay for like 4 years of college.
@@urusledge of course I remember that, but this fight was simply on a whole other level for me. Maybe it was just what I was personally going through at the time of the fight. Watching Julianna stay in the pocket, drive those jabs through, frustrate Amanda into a brawl and ultimately win as a super underdog was tremendously inspiring.
I thought if anyone was ever going to beat Amanda it would be some male looking ugly fighter. I never expected a pretty girl like Julianna to beat Amanda.
I was not super excited to see this fight but surprisingly it was one of the most exciting fights of the year. It was pretty obvious watching Peña on TUF that she would be a contender one day. Very happy for her after taking the long road to the top
Honestly, I underestimated Juliana. I was like one of those people saying she's just talking but when I saw her toe to toe with Amanda and finally submitting her, I was like: this woman literally did exactly what she said she would do! Thumbs up Juliana! My respect for you is way up there!

Nah he apologized it's cool now. People say stupid shit sometimes and it takes a real man to acknowledge it and want to do better. The fucked up people are the ones who put blind faith in fallible human beings instead of holding them accountable. Accountability matters and Rogan knows that and made amends it's all good now but dummies who get their news from agenda pushing talking heads keep trying to make it a thing.
I'll give credit where credit is due, she definitely earned that victory. Her confidence and enthusiasm is wonderful. She's definitely a beautiful woman too, wishing her success and great health for the future
Only Joe Rogan can have his own show and still let the guest tell their stories. I like remembering what people said, and how they see themselves. Thank you , Peña, for showing us what courage is supposed to look like.
Joe you’re the greatest !! Keep doing exactly what you are doing . America needs more people like you. Don’t let these losers alter your behavior in the slightest. Julianna CONGRATULATIONS on your big win!! You did exactly what you said you were going to do in your pre fight interviews. I looked it up Amanda did say she would fight you ,years ago. (I had no doubt.) Pointing out that you are the first Champion to have given birth and able to physically recover from it and back to fighting was a really important point to make . You shouldn’t apologize for that, it is a legitimate point. This doesn’t take anything away from Amanda or any other fighter that is also a parent. It is clear to me that the point you were trying to make is that giving birth & having a C section is an enormous trauma your body went through. You then had to physically recover from your C section and be able to tolerate being punched or kicked in that injured part of your body. That is a huge deal, that other fighters have not had to overcome. GREAT JOB JULIANNA !!!
Great interview, Julianna is such a lovable person. I have not known her this much, now I have a better understanding. I am happy for her and wish all the best and blessing.
Been rooting for her heavy since TUF, my favorite fighter from that season…kinda frustrating not seeing her fight much the last couple years. I didn’t think she had much of a shot taking out Nunes but damn RESPECT
Don’t let her fool you she was in a bar with her trainer then decides to street fight like a man In Spokane Washington DC Mother and sister part of the media First woman, Is by design I don’t see a wedding band ?
I don't usually re-watch fights, but I watched this fight twice on the Sunday morning (I'm in the UK). Then I have watched it 2 or 3 times more and all the clips, interviews ect. I'm really happy for Pena, the fight is inspiring.
Julianna might possibly be the most beautiful woman in the world 🥰😍 If she were my lady I would shower her with gifts, go down on her and expect nothing in return, and I would be there to listen to all of her fears and worries. I would worship the ground she walks in and do whatever she asks of me. If you happen to be reading this Julianna hit me up if you're looking for a real alpha badass 😉
I've been waiting for this since the fight...The way JR describe the feeling of watching it live is perfect....I also appreciate how everyone was shocked except Pena herself.
I didn’t watch this but have just seen you get thumped on tv. I felt bad for you and decided to tell you thru this most recent video. You rock Joe. Misinformation and Spotify? Seriously? People will do anything to bring you down. Stay Rogan strong. You got this and always had. You do a great job Joe Rogan.
I honestly think that her win was a fluke. I think she caught Amanda at a low point of her fighting career because her cardio wasn't there. I think a rematch will be a different story if Amanda conditions properly...but I could be wrong.
I remember watching her on the ultimate fighter and thinking she was for sure going to be the champion soon. When it didn't happen and after a few years and injuries i wasn't sure anymore. Not because i didnt think she had the skills its just time and injuries. But I'm happy it finally happened because she has the skill and heart of a true champ
Absolutely. I remember the toughness and heart she had from those days too. I knew she had a better chance than what the odds were indicating, but to win with punches was amazing.
What about the part where she claims her choke is a legit technique that any haters would tap out too... There's a reason no jui jitsu coaches broke down the choke because it wasn't a choke. The one jiu jitsu channel that broke it down just flat out say it wasn't a choke or even a crank, just tapping out from exhaustion. If she didn't try to lie to the world that it was a legit technique I'd have a lot of respect for her right now, but she tried to treat the fans as fools.
@@ComplexWork She did win fair and square but not by a choke. It matters because there's little girls around the world right now thinking there's this cool new choke that Juliana Pena can do but no one else has done yet, they think this because she told them it was so. IT WASN'T A CHOKE. She won by way of tap out but not from a choke or neck crank. That's like a Pat Barry having people tap out from his leg kicks and then after Pat bragging about how good his submission was.
@@TooEazy13 I do give a crap about a world champion being a role model of the next generation. I feel sorry for all the jiu jitsu coaches out there in the world having to explain to their youth class what really happened when someone asks to see the "Juliana Pena" choke. This conversation is probably lost on you if you have never trained jiu jitsu.
I love this woman. Been if love since UF. Still in love with her..i believe she's engaged or married now but I'm happy for her. I know she's a mother and shes amazing.
Juliana Pena has had a history of upsets. She did beat Shayna Baszler in her first fight on The Ultimate Fighter who was a legend at the time and a heavy favorite to beat Pena.
This was a rocky moment , from the first minute she looked shaky and looked like she had no chance but then she put Nunez in a compromising position when Nunez was so dominant and little by little she won my heart and I literally cheered . Like a instant fan
All-time!!! I thought she was crazy for being so confident. I still wanted her to win, but I didn't see it was happening. ...but she KNEW. She knew knew 💣💣💣
I introduced my dad and brother-in-law to the world of MMA with UFC269. I explained who was who, the rivalries, the legends, I waxed lyrical about Amanda’s dominance, and then the fight happened, it was insane, everyone was hollering, what a crazy crazy night! Let’s just say the UFC got two new fans ✊😀
I never really knew her much before but I Love Her. She's Awesome because she is just REAL. It takes a real person to go toe to toe with someone else in their element. THAT IS A REAL CHAMPION!!!. Way to go girl.
Amanda proved to her that her luckiest day was behind her. Amanda could have knocked her out at any moment in the second fight but just wanted to completely dominate her so there’s no doubt in Peña’s mind that Amanda is better than her .
I support you, JRE! And although I am sure when you started out, you never surmised that your show would be a flagship during our time's frightening battle to save our 1st Amendment rights - keep on doing you, sir!
Julianna is so sharp; not just a great fighter, but poised, confident, great personality, attractive and likable. If I owned a brand, she would be someone I would want as a spokesperson.
Once an amazing champion loses, and they almost all lose, the weaknesses are on full display. Amandas cardio is suspect and she mainly has a big right hand. Julianna is simply a better fighter. Connar looked unbeatable and now he looks like he has a lot of holes, including defending the calf kick. Its on full display for everyone to see. I'm happy for Julianna.
Pfffft easy there. Nunes was outa shape n gassed early n large part cuzz she met resistance from Pena. Im not taking anything away from Julianna she didnt win by accident shes got skills, but Amanda is the better fighter. Weather shes got the disire still to compete is another question. Shes certainly not a one trick pony either. Shes got really good boxing for MMA, is a black belt in bjj n a brown belt in judo.
N Conner never looked unbeatable. He had about a 18-24 month stretch where he looked really impressive, n capatalized on his success with his personality n charisma. He always had holes. Grappling n gas tank in that order
I had just gotten off work at the airport and was on the light rail heading home when the fight started. I genuinely thought she had the best chance of beating Amanda but still marked that percentage at about 20%. And during that 1st round I wasn't very invested into the fight Until they got on the ground and Pena started working on that kamura. Now it was obvious that she wasn't going to get the lock but it was so unfamiliar in a Nunes fight. Then she just absolutely took it to Amanda off jump street in t b at second round. Phenomenal fight for Pena. Those jabs were absolutely $$$.
