This woman is EVERY INCH of BEAUTY, TALENT, GENEROSITY AND GOODNESS. A real gift to humanity. It's her award and her moment, and still she takes the time to give us one of the best acceptance speeches ever and teaches us about the wonder of making movies with her familiar voice that keep us mesmerized! What a great beloved Lady!

I'm once again struck by how freely and properly she can speak, without notes or filler words and repetition, just pleasant, fluent speech. One hears so many people nowadays who couldn't string a proper sentence together even if their life depended on it. I'm very well aware that this is not an essential quality actors and directors need to have-writing and holding -but every once in a while it is nice when it's done by someone who is actually capable of it.

This made me cry, i have loved Julie Andrews since i was a toddler. Just hearing her voice brings back hundreds of beautiful memories of my mum and i singing along and watching her together.

She is everything to me. I’m over the moon because this award is so special and she finally has it. Congratulations, dearest Dame Julie Andrews 🥰

What can I say except MAGNIFICENT!!! Dame Julie is still very classy with a dose of humility and graciousness. She cares about people, and that's a rare quality among entertainers. Her acceptance speech was most appropriate and shows why she is a winner. I have always loved and admired her dignity, her love of family and her work ethic.

Loved it when she went and kissed Jane from Mary Poppins!!! grew up with that film, if Michael was alive, he would have been there too. He left the world too soon.

Between Mary Poppins and Maria - I don't think there's been an actress who has had such an affect on my life. I saw those two movies very young, and never stopped loving them, and never stopped singing the songs. Even now, I hum them while I make breakfast, or shower, or help the kids clean up. Besides that - she mothered people in those two movies - even though she wasn't a mother. I love my preschool children just like she taught me to. Thank you, Dame Julie Andrews.

Betty White who always thought of others and thanked us and taught us what humbling is and Dame Julie Andrews who blessed us and taught us to value and appreciate others and reminded Actors and Actresses to be appreciatative of stage crew, artists, and all other involved no matter how big and small. I was in art school and working part time at a restaurant when I waited on Carol and Glenna Goodacre, the creator of the womens vietnam memorial in D.C., also harry connick jr mother in law, and Carol was lovely and kind and so was Glenna, it was 2 hours of bliss for me. Someone else in the restaurant paid there bill and tipped me hugely!!! Real people, kind, considerate, mannered❤️❤️❤️❤️
