I am a Black American, and despite Shacarri's 2nd place finish, I am very, very happy for my sister Julien and the bronze medalist as well. There is no Carribean/ Jamaican vs U.S. thing with me. Just beautiful, competing Black sisters who happen to dominate the sprints (thank you Mother Africa). Congrats St. Lucia.
She woke up in the morning and wrote it down, she believed in herself and knew her country was fully behind her. She made her written statement a reality. A true sports personality. Congratulations🎉 . This win is epic 🥇🎊🎉
@@terencejones5649 no she didnt get tht smut off her name shes the world indoor 50 & 60 m champion. She won world championships last year. Broke 9 Ncaa records last szn at Texas and was undefeated last szn. She didnt come out of nowhere, she been outside. Give respect where its due
@@turnpike_sime9897 thats right tell them. Put the due respect on Julien's name. She worked hard to earn it. It didnt happen overnight. These are the same stupid comments we saw when Bolt came on the scene. No worries Julien will show them in the 200M on Tuesday.
Congratulations from Jamaica to Julien Alfred and the people of St. Lucia on your first Olympics medal and a gold medal at that. St. Lucia to the world!!!
Congrats on St. Lucia getting the gold today. I saw Julien Alfred getting a medal on the podium today. And I must also say St. Lucia produces some very beautiful women- from Ms. Alfred to yourself Nina
From a small Caribbean island ( 7 times British, 7 times French), to a state of independence, here we are today! Thank you for bringing Saint Lucia its first Olympic medal. You were truly divinely purposed for this historical moment. Thank you! We love and salute you! ❤🎉
@@norviliaetienne222 It's not independent in any way. St Lucia depends heavily on tourism from England. There's no decision that can be made by any of the slave colonies in the Caribbean without taking all the signed conventions into consideration. Independence is an illusion.
This the first time I have heard Julien speak. She's a silent assasin, she allows talent to do all the talking Congrats Julien! You are an amazing athlete. Sincerely track and Field Aficionado and USA citizen. Its all love here.
@@kennethjackson9288yes. Now four major international championship medals. She is 24. Another Olympics will be hard. She will probably go down in history as possibly the most talented 100 m female sprinter who doesn’t have any championship title to show.
yes thank you ❤ we are a humble people she's showing our nature as a people and we are bound to go far due to that quality in anything we do st.lucia dominates in other arenas as well we are just unheard of due to our humble nature ❤🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨
@@jjdynomite6526True, a little over the top but records come and go. She & Sha'carri are both young, so I'm sure there is room for improvement in both their pb times. However, no one can take away her Olympic medal and it's the standard athletes are measured by. It was refreshing to see her humility and pride.
I am an Jamaican and am so happy for St Lucian. So am sad it's not Jamaica again but I am 100% happy I see the 100-meter stayed in the Caribbean 👏🙏🙏. One love and congratulations Julien❤️
I jus love her mentality, she think about herself and her to execute everything. Don't care who's running next to her or who's sitting next to her, or wat happened to the rest.
"It's my first time here, so I don't now what to expect." Don't put words in her mouth. She's focused on Julien Alfred, not on the silver and bronze medallists.
At the same time, those reporters should take note and see how disrespectful it is for Sha’Carri and Melissa to not show up. If you want to ask (because you actually know the answer), then run a story on the level of disrespect being shown by them for not showing up.
I was wondering why there were so many seats. Wow, that’s quite upsetting that they wouldn’t show up. At the same time, I’m glad Julien got her flowers and got the spotlight she deserves.
@@MartineCloutier-LeBlanc-pl2pr It was her moment. She made history. Showing up would take away from that. Carri & Co already know how reporters like to twist narratives and cause unnecessary strife for attention, so they didn't show up. Simple
I cried watching you capture the first medal for our Simply Beautiful St.Lucia!! Words can not convey the pride and joy that I feel. Congratulations, Julian Alfred🎉🎉🎉🎉
Such a humble yet beautiful young lady. Congratulations Julien. I am really loving how you are handling the questions. You did amazing !! Loads of respect and support from Jamaica 🇯🇲 🎉🎉🎉👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Congratulations to St. Lucia 😊. This is what happens in the Olympics. Sha Carri will win medals 😊. USA got some of the best athletes at the Olympics. We just got started okay 👍
Until yesterday, I hadn't heard of Ms. Alfred or St. Lucia. Today, everyone is googling Julien and St. Lucia. For the record, she was actually the third favorite according to the bookies. Congratulations!
@@markc915 I understand that. And the media wanted it so. This young woman is well known even in the US. She ran for Texas university and is an absolute power house. She actually break the NCAA record in 60 m 7 times. She holds the fastest 60m in ncaa history. How she was not being talked about enough is truly shocking to me.
First medal and first goal!So much respect for this young lady. Congratulations to her and to St. Lucia, a well-deserved win! Looking forward to watching her continue to win🥇🇱🇨 Nuff respect from Jamaica!
As soon as I saw how Julian was shredded at approx. A couple of months back, I KNEW! Her form reminded me if the first time Shericka won the Jamaican trials 100m. As I watched the semifinal my mind was made up! MY WONDERFUL EMPRESS YOU DESERVE THIS WIN! SO HAPPY FOR YOU.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
So well spoken. Her being able to represent herself well is just as impressive as her being champion in my book. Welcome to the winners section and Congratulations from Jamaica to Julien and St. Lucia...we are proud of you!
Congratulations to Julien Alfred on attaining gold in the 100m 2024 Olympic Finals, becoming the fastest woman on the planet. So proud of our Caribbean community. Go St. Lucia 🇱🇨 from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 .
Sha’Carri still has the fastest time this year by a .01 and I’m holding onto it w a gorilla grip 😂 I’ve never been so excited to see a non Jamaican/US sprinter win. She always had it in her 🔥👏🏼
I am Jamaican…but why would you spoil Julien’s big big moment asking about Shelly? The focus should be on her… ask Shelly any questions you have when you see her . Congrats to her…well deserved!!!
Congratulations Julien we Jamaicans will certainly will be jumping in celebration of this St Lucia first medal. What a monumental achievement for you and your coach. Stay Humble; and Stay Bkessed🙏🏾🇱🇨🥇
I am so proud of this young lady. What is so endearing is her humility in becoming the Olympic 100m gold medalist!!! Indeed a worthy successor to Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce. Heartiest congratulations to her, the people of St. Lucia and the rest of the Caribbean! 🥳🥳🥳 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💯🥇 Best of luck to her in the 200m🙏Love from Trinidad and Tobago🇹🇹
