That 10-speed 10R80 automatic transmission worries me. There's a class-action lawsuit pending against Ford in the USA. Clunking and banging coming from the gearbox during startup, holding gears for too long, and exhibiting power loss while shifting during warmup or when cold. One Ford F150 would not accelerate or shift, instead displaying the message “drive mode not available”. Firmer than normal upshifts and downshifts were attributed to “adaptive transmission shift strategy,” which is intended to improve shifting quality but actually worsens the shift quality for several days after the adaptive strategy is reset as the computer relearns various parameters. That's concerning. Why are customers being used as guinea-pigs?
