Mount De Sales Academy High School (MD) senior and Stanford University commit Juliette Whittaker became the second U.S. high school girl to break two minutes for the 800 meters at the Trials of Miles Track Night NYC meet at Icahn Stadium on Friday night. She won the race against pro runners in 1:59.80. Fellow high school runner Moses Brown School (RI) junior Sophia Gorriaran finished 6th in 2:00.65.

Whittaker, Flatt, Willis, Gorriaran... and of course Mu just preceding them. we have been so spoiled by super fast high schoolers in the half these past few years. excited to see what they all do at the next level and beyond.

Its worth saying, she ran a 1:59.8 for about 810 meters. The equivalent for an actual 800 is about 1:58.2.

Why did the pacer stay so close to the first lane when slowing down? She only moved out of the way after looking back and seeing the runners on her butt. There should be a class on how to pace because most pacers are extremely bad at it.
