Because it was a song about a pedophile.. It may have flown in 1980 just like Married with Children made it to TV, But TODAY?? Not a chance in hell. C'mon..She's just 16 years old? If I decided to re-record this song I'd change the lyrics too.

First of all, I don’t think you were actually in Bennys “mind” when he wrote down the song so certainly, you could not possibly know what he was thinking. Secondly, there has been to many interviews, over the years as to how the lyrics came about. Best one being “This is My Most Cherished Interview” by Professor of Rock on RU-vid. Listen to it before you jump to any negative opinions please. I have a real difficult time with people who always find something, right off the bat, that doesn’t Sound right or Look right or Feel right! I question why people’s mind goes to the worse things automatically! Makes me wonder WHY they are thinking of that Anyway! I am very aware of what goes on in this world, as you are too, but NOT everything relates to the worse case scenarios. 🙂

Walking his dog, deliver groceries, etc.. she walked up one morning looking a (little so called mature) he told friend “Hey, she’s just 16, leave her alone.” Voile …he used it, gave credit to the young family after it hit Billboard charts. She ended up marrying a guy in real estate, moved to Puerto Rico, sent for the family… People sexualized the song…saying old men were fantasizing about a 16 yr old…which I’m sure is true. However, it almost became an anthem for YOUNG Lovers! Believe it it or not, …it’s the truth! He said it in his own words!
I was skeptical when I heard about this “duet”. But have to admit your voices blend beautifully. I went to every single Benny show in Syracuse from age 16 (1985) until his last show in 2017! His voice is like no other & still gives me chills to this day. I will always love you Benny ♥️
I was 24 when "Into The Night" was released. Like most, we instantly knew this would stand the test of time. Has it ever! Listening to this at 66, evokes the same powerful emotions, and transports me to my youth! What a gift Benny gave us! I enjoyed this version very much. ✌❤ Mark
