Dude you made it so easy to watch your video. Great job. And thank you. BTW your ninja turtles are so awesome. Im going to enjoy throwing my tokens into their starting areas as well .
Hi Craig, I like really your video, and I am a fan of JUMANJI also, and can you tell me what are the specific for the magnents and where did you buy them from. many thanks anf JUMANJI; JUMANJI, JUMANJI
I bought them from a seller on ebay called powermagnetstore, I used 10mm flat 0.75g neodymium magnets for under the tokens and for the corners used 1"x1/8" 5.5kg neodymium magnets.
@@craigtheglasgowgeek4868 Hi Craig thank you so much, you save my JUMANJI life, you are so great you can continue like that tu peux continuer ainsi, merci beaucoup it is great Pierre
Question! What exactly is the diameter for the magnets underneath the board? You mention that the ones beneath the tokens are 10 mm, so I'm wondering if the ones beneath the board need to be the same size. Any magnet with 5 kg pull I can find is at LEAST 15 mm, some even 20, and I don't know whether that fits in the corners of the board. Thanks in advance!
@@craigtheglasgowgeek4868 Thanks so much! By now, I've used 15 x 5mm magnets, which work well enough but also have the downside of pulling in the tokens if they're set down on the first space of their path. Technically you can't roll a one right off the bat because you use two dice and often move the amount of spaces indicated on a Jumanji card, but the game does occasionally send a player back a few spaces, which risks the problem of a player token ending up on that first space. Another problem I'm having is that if tokens are adjacent to one another/their paths cross, their magnetic fields will mess with one another. But then, the game is more for show and less for playing.
This is great thank you for the video, I have recently brought the replica and have been waiting for your update on how you put the magnets in the game, and now I know exactly what magnets to buy without getting them too strong or week! I look forward to seeing more jumanji videos in the near future.
Please can you give us more information about the sizes of the magnets, force of attraction, number of magnets you need... Please please I would love to do these upgrades to my Jumanji board
Firstly search ebay for a seller called powermagnetstore, that's where you'll get all the magnets from that I used for this project. You'll need four small flat ones for under the tokens and four of the larger flat ones (5kg of pull) for the corners. All the Best.
Quick question. Those “half spaces” near the center aren’t counted as an actual space are they? I did notice the more “squared spaces” just before the end so I assume those are the last ones.
The half spaces count as the space which takes you to the centre of the game. You can only call out Jumanji and finish a game by landing on the exact number of spaces. Makes for some very exciting gameplay if there are more than one of you trying to reach the centre.
which sizes neodymium magnets did you use? Great vid btw! helps a lot I hadn't though about the magnets being to strong so that would have been an expensive laugh
Dude you should have like a 1000000000 subs you are so smart and cleaver and you just have a very cool ascent and I just love your content so much you are a very cool youtuber and I hope you have much success with your channel in the future take care
I think I might take this a step further by adding magnets to the back of every tile and drill holes in the pieces to avoid the magnets protruding. That and reprint the rules to adhere to the correct positions and possibly lightly engrave wood grain into the box itself.
I like everything you just said. Except for the magnets under every tile, I don't know how that would work. Temporarily attach some before glueing it down. That way, if it doesn't work you've not ruined your board. Good luck.
hey, I just bought my own board as well and I was having the same idea. Have you already made the applications? and did it work? otherwise you could also use magnetic relabel strip
If I were to rig the board to have thin steel rods lining underneath the tracks, how strong of magnets to put underneath the tokens would you recommend to do that? I already spent $8 on some magnets and 1lb of pull was not enough for even two magnets to stay together between the board lol
I looked at magnets based on kg's not lbs. I also worry that having the steel rod under the track might attract the pieces to the wrong area of the board. Hope this helps.
Thanks for both of your excellent Jumanji videos! I think you had the first review to look at the film accuracy and the playable game component of the board together. I'm supposed to be receiving my board tomorrow (fingers crossed). The Noble Collection in the U.S. has been closed since April because of Covid and I've been checking weekly to see if it had shipped. Based on your video, I think I'd like to add to my board the magnets and add some washes in acrylic particularly to the game tokens and the front of the board which seem a bit too clean. What do you think of drilling into the tokens to get the magnets to be hidden inside? I have some 2x6mm magnets that I thought I'd try using a vise and a hand drill and plug the hole with epoxy putty.
I had originally thought about doing that myself, to hide the magnets within the have tokens. Let me know how you get on and that may dictate whether I attempt to do the same thing with mine.
