Jump Drive Limit? | Space Engineers Experiment 

Notice your weight with 30 drives is 1.23m kg. Adding another drive, weighing 36k kg, puts you over and it starts using some crazy formula to calculate the distance. It's crazy to note that regardless of the weight, if both ships are less than 1.25m kg and have the same number of drives, it will be the same distance. So for example, a 100k kg ship will jump the same as a 1.2m kg ship if they both have one drive each. But a 1.6m kg ship and a 2.7m kg ship will be drastically different with one drive each. Even though the difference in weight is the same between both groups, the formula after the 1.25m kg limit has a big effect. I hope that makes sense.

100% the weight. When you start seeing the distance drop off, 30 drives in your case, you should be breaking the 1.25m kg weight limit. If I remember correctly, weight of ship and cargo exceeding this limit will immediately start effecting it.

The furthest you could jump under the 1.25m kg rule would be 34 jump drives (1.243m kg) and a flight seat (320 kg) for a jump of 68,000 km. If my math is correct. It is 3:30 am here in Japan so please forgive any mistakes.

Weight penalty kicks in at 1.25 million kg, so I thought that if you had one jump drive for every 1.35 million kg or less then they would yield 2000 km, but apparently weight penalty is non-linear. When you had 58k jump drives, you were over 2 trillion kg, and made it 69420 km, so the curve for the weight penalty for the hump drives can be calculated based on some dank math! 🤣

So at a point you are fighting the weight of the ship and see diminishing returns on the distance. Just like if you add more weight to a normal ship.

I think Keen needs to look at the formula for calculating the jump distance.
