Splash Mountain was a huge shoe to fill. This so far does not look like it delivers.

It feels really empty if I'm being honest. Like there's a TON of stuff still missing there's so much dead-air in between the animatronics. The addition of screens doesn't really add much despite how heavily they're being used. It's very clear what they spent most of the budget on that being the super smoothe and dynamic animatronics, but the pacing is all off and whole sections just feel dead. Finally I'll say what everyone else has said not adding the voodoo element to the ride was a mistake. Facilier and his "friend's on the other side" made up like 80% of the movies coolest element's. I understand this ride takes place afterward but it is still very disappointing.

As iger said, it's BORING! Unimaginative & dull ... and sadly missing the greatest ride finale ever ... Zippity Do Da! The shills & bots will praise it!

Current FACT!!! Tokyo Disneyland, is keeping their Splash Mountain, FOREVER!!! The Oriental Land Company, owns the Park, NOT Disney, and they said, they are keeping it forever!!! they also opened up a completely refurbished and renewed Country Bear Jamboree, yay!!!! Lets all go to Tokyo!!!

This ride just seems bland and lazy compared to Splash Mountain. And why is there so much empty space? Such a shame!

People are easy to please….

This does not have any where near as much fun visual to look at compared to the original brer family ride. And the excitement leading to the drop is extremely dull compared to the original ride. It is almost as if it is not finished and needs to be filled in. The only thing I think looks comparable aesthetically to the original ride is the final scene where the boat used to be.

So is this ride officially open?

This is the result of talentless hacks who were more interested in destroying Splash Mountain than telling a good story. Shame on them.

Im not a splash mountain concept fan either . The movie was a deserved disater for Disney in the 1960's! Totally indifferent to stereotyping that was being brought to light 60 years ago.

I appreciate Steve for showing us so we can decide for ourselves if it's worth the price of admission. --> I do have to point out, that while most of the reviews seem positive at first glance, take a look at the replies. Some have suggested that there have been bots working the social aspect of different channels; what do the commenters think is the true perspective, versus the fictional narrative being presented in the comment section. Don't get me wrong, I have long enjoyed the work of Walt Disney, and talent of his keeping the magic, but I do sense a certain unbalance, that seems to be in the more present re-imagineered attractions.

what a downgrade. if you watch this then watch a pov of splash mountain, this ride looks so dull besides the final scene. and what was the storyline ? was there one at all. If you compare this to the new stuff at Fantasy Springs it looks really half arsed imo

No Dr. Facilier? Kinda sad about that but Looks really good. Will always miss Splash and if I ever ride Tiana’s will always hear the splash songs but it does look very well done.

I'm glad I saw this before the one at DL opens. I never had the chance to ride Splash Mt so I won't be able to compare the 2. This doesn't look like it is up to the creative standards of what Disney used to be, but that has been the case of everything "Disney" for about 2 years now.

The projection works, and it's nicely lit, but the animatronics have been programmed by someone who mistakenly thinks that waving arms around looks even slightly natural or entertaining.

the only good part from this ride is the finale. everything else is empty and bad. I think tokyo disney will keep Splash Mountain, and obviously splash mountain was and will always be better than this trash.

This ""Attraction"", is making me sick, it's a piece of TRASH, and the A-1000 figures, are like Chuck-E-Cheese rejects!!!! Our Animatronics that we installed in Splash, and Pirates, are WAY MORE SUPERIOR than this junk!!! I want my beloved Splash back!!! There was absolutely nothing, i repeat nothing, racist, about our beloved creation, Splash Mountain, and absolutely nothing wrong, with the Original Movie, Song of the South, either!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. Just no. It's a little impressive, but bring back the classic Splash Mountain. And no Dr. Facilier. I'm not going to be like everyone else in your comment section giving this praise. Sorry. Everyone else on other channels is disappointed, and I agree. It seems disjointed and definitely feels like a downgrade, unfortunately. There's no tension leading up to the drop. It's cool, but there's no danger and excitement. Everything feels lifeless. They changed a brilliant attraction to a below-mid IP ride. It's a mediocre ride at best, and the story feels lame.😢😐😔☹️ A total and utter let down 👎🏻 There's better ways they could have improved it. But not this!

It has issues ! , Did the designers even see the movie.??? The first 2 minutes of ride is problematic , it doesn't reflect any part of the movie at all. . Maybe more of a Pirates of the Caribbean inside ride with a Tianas restaurant like the Blue Bayou. Disney got taken by those disigners and cocept people on this one I give it 3 years before a redesign or to scrap it. Disneyland hasn't opened theirs yet .....
