I am also in Georgia and always have a hard time with my plants. I keep spending money on drought tolerant and heat tolerant plants but they still take a beating, I have to water them constantly. If the heat dont get to them the deers will.
It's definitely rough with the summer heat. I water but I use an oscillating thing...and I hand water as well No deer in my area. The plants definitely take a beating either way.
Beautiful looking garden, Its the bees knees. The weather over here in Ireland has been rainy and the long term forecast for June is not much better. Hopefully we will see some sunny days in July or August. The one good thing is I don't have to water the flower beds with the watering can.
Beautiful garden tour today! I wanted to suggest getting the hanging Japanese beetle traps. They work great! Amazon has them. And though it sounds weird I find it satisfying to see them caught in the bag. The traps have a sweet scent that attracts the beetles
Hello from Charlotte again! Everything is gorgeous; but, spraying is needed..here as well as there! For your white garden, try these: • Gardenia radicans • Tall garden phlox "David" (a personal favorite) • "Iceberg" rose (also available as a climber!) • Clematis • White coneflower • Japanese anemone (windflower) • "White Wands" veronica❣️ I'm very interested in seeing your white garden as you add to it! You're so fortunate to have such a spacious property! Your hard work shows! Thank you for the wonderful tour! Btw, do you order any plants on-line? If so, please recommend any that you've been pleased with. Thank you!
since I have had chickens and I allow some free range, I only see up to 3 japenense beetles, most of your plants look really nice, sea hollly I like too, roses are my favorites. when does your crape myrtles bloom in your area? magnolias? most of the buds on my lillies became lunch for the deer since they started some development near here the deer are being pushed into our area, one was eating yesterday as I sat in my chair and I was talking ot her to hopfully get her to move on, but I think her baby is nearby, she has been hanging around for about a week, she doesnt seem to concerned about me, cant wait to see her baby tho, next year the lillies will be in a fenced bed,
I decided to spray as well. I heart my heart but the beetles defoliated by very expensive birch tree. The population was way out of control. Love love love your garden.
You should try this product, called shrub and tree drench I Purchased this product for the same issue. My hibiscuses were being devoured by these little green caterpillars Japanese beetles you follow the directions you mix it with water pour it around the drip line of the plants and I tell you it works. My hibiscuses have never looked better. I bought the product from Creekside Nursery. It’s pricey, but it works.
Hi, Arah, thanks for sharing your beautiful garden., really enjoy your videos. As a fellow Georgian gardening in 8A, I wonder if you also have deer issues? If you do, how do you deal with them?
What do you spray with for the Japanese beetles? I’m in Harrisburg NC , and they are killing my roses. Also i love the cone flowers, but I have so many rabbits, that eat all my cone flowers.
A bed is a 2 dimensional strip maybe let's say up against the house....a border is a section you can see from all angles in other there's a front a side or sides and a back. Many, if not most, of your gardens are borders rather than beds. Looking gorgeous!!!!
I came here to give her props But i see another negative critique from you .. get over yourself.. just enjoy the content.. or be like a bee buzz off ..
