@@MrRyanmcmahon I think it will do the job just fine for someone who knows it's limitations. But I would advise against it personally. If you do deer hunt with the 22-250 shot placement and bullet selection are going to be more important than if you use a heavier caliber. The thing is, most 22-250s are a 1-14" or 1-12" twist rate and are designed to launch light bullets extremely fast. Fast light bullets don't make for good penetration on bigger animals. So if you go for lungs, you might only take out one lung. The bullet won't exit, and if the deer takes off you won't have much of a blood trail. I would just prefer to use a bigger caliber personally. But I will say the the 22-250 has been hands down my favorite woodchuck round since I've started using it.
@@ChuckinTV Hey thank you for the response. I appreciate it. Keep on chuckin. I've always felt that an accurate rifle is the most important thing in hunting. The 22-250 with the right bullet seems to be wicked. but I would not want to light of a bullet for bigger game.
That fire cracker prank brings back fond memories. As kids we would take a box, punch a hole on top and then we would get a carbide stone, spit on it and put it in the box and then light it. It was cheaper than a cracker, we could get hundreds of shots at the cost of a single cracker.
I saw a man from Penna years ago shooting prairie dogs near Zortman, MT. He had five rifles set out and he said all his barrels were hot. I used to shoot prairie dogs with my BR rifle but I haven’t gone out in quite a while even though I live just a few miles from some big towns.
You guys have some great fields! I’ve taken one this year so far at 124yds with a 17 HMR. Great to see you guys back on the channel! Keep up the great work!!
I love groundhog shootin. Looks like you boys had a pretty good day. Best I get by my house one or two at a spot and thats the day sometimes. But always fun. I love shootin the 6.5 Creedmoor and my 22-250. Have a good Independence day boys.
Good day it was. I've been wondering what the 140 match would do on critters, have some ready to go but the heat has been unreal. Hope you all have a great Independence Day Weekend.
Just loaded 100 55gr blitzkings for my ar along with 100 60gr v max, 85gr nosler rdf, and few more 77gr smk…have 53gr 62,69 also…bk shot tightest from 16” carbine round 2500ish
Bummer being the camera man and watching everyone else having all the fun! I'm pretty sure I saw some woodchuck parts go flying out into the weeds on one of those slo-mo shots! Looks like you guys had a pretty good day! Nice shirt by the way! Lol.
Can I join you guys on a ground hog/chuck hunt? I think I can add some value to reloading science. 223, 6.5 and 300 bo are my go to. Looks like a lot of fun and keep up the good content
My wish come true…lol…prc for the win..and the same scope I’m lookin hard at..4x32…like to get a zeco but hard enough to go 25 deep on one let alone more…not cause I don’t think there worth it…
6.5CM on Prarie dogs? A little overkill, and pricey per round. Awesome, but a little overkill. What's next 50 BMG on squirrels? On second thought, that sounds awesome as well. I guess if you can shoot a prairie dog with that, you're a good shot. So kudos to you.
