I have uploaded the movie in 4:3 because of the strange format to the danish movie (14:9) and the american version which was 4:3. Why 14:9 you say? Well, still in 1996 it was not totaly clear if it was going to be 16:9. They stood between 15:9, 1.85, 2.20 and 2.35.
Comparing the original Danish version from 1996 and the 2005 English version.
You would believe that 11 years later they would have good time to translate... they do not.
Personal issues:
• Why do suddenly everybody knows who is who? Cupman knows Hugo is named Hugo, though in the Danish version it's "The jungle animal".
Hugo knows who Cupman is, though in the Danish version it's "The human".
• Is "laying eggs" something very bad in English? Why have it been translated to: "Have to go" istead of "The eggs wants out/ I have to lay eggs"?
• What's up all that stupid noises Hugo and Rita makes in between talking??? The English version lack music score, but it don't lack talking, in fact, there's nearly not one silent moment!
• Was really hard to actually have the same background score? I can understand if the originally score is missing and they had to make a new one, but why a new melody? Why not keep the same melody as the original?
Imagen Star Wars suddenly having Danny Elfman music.
