The reason I love Brown's music is because it sounds like REAL Country Music! Not like the crap they play on the radio these days. Brown's music is the type of Country I remember when I was a small child. What happened to that beautiful style?
Okay I hope you're all happy. I watched this before going to bed. Then woke up with this song in my head. Later on proceeded to go to work and sing it in the halls (I am a teacher) as I did hall duty. School hallways have outstanding acoustics ...
I met him in 1997 at Merle Fest in Wilkesboro, NC. An extraordinarily polite man, and his talent is beyond belief. Country/western, rockabilly, and surf guitar. He has been a major influence in my playing. He also has a great sense of humor. Thanks Jr.
Does this group ever fail to entertain with absolute positive results!? I Wish country music was country like this.. Thanks for the real deal J.B. & Band!!!
He has his own sound and it is throwback golden age rockabilly mixed with his invention........ Ahhhhhh, I can't describe it, I just know I love his sound. And seeing him live is a real experience!
Underrated guitar player? Not in my book! Never mind the custom instrument that has both guitar AND slide… Show me one other musician who has THIS going on!🎸 Love you, Junior and Tanya Ray Brown!! PS - that is one hell of a funny video…
@@BaconTomatoCheeseJunior Brown isn’t “under rated” by anyone who has touched a guitar and listened to him play for 30 seconds. And yes the “guitsteel” (at least I think that’s what he calls it) is pure genius.
I love the way how they put this video like an old-fashioned 1900's film with just music. I am not a music country music fan but I came across this song on the radio and I actually like this song. It is a good country song with a steel guitar.
Saw Jr. in concert a few months ago....he is incredible and yes, his tribute to Jimi Hendrix was phenomenal! He's so talented, even did a tribute to BB King who had just passed. Wish more people knew about him....his way with words and chords...wow!
this guy is a trip . plays country like nobodys business then plays surfer music . i think he grew up with listening to the Ventures dang good too , anyway i like his style . Ever see his jimmy hendricks wholle shitzz he is somthing .
Saw Junior Brown and Bob Dylan outside on a summer evening in a baseball field. One of the greatest concert ever! Stevie Ray Vaughan‘s brother was there with a really cute fiddle player from TX. Met Junior once in western WI as well. Almost forgot, got to see Junior Brown in Eau Claire Wisconsin for 20 bucks at the stones throw, medium size bar. So awesome! It’s like I just discovered Junior again just now. If you know, you know.
junior brown is one of the very best country muscians ia have heard in along time the only reason he is not recognized is because he actually makes music and doesn't give a shit about popularity or being a part of the in crowd to hell with pop country give me junior any day
I accidentally ran into this video, he is awesome! The video was incredible, made me laugh and the music outstanding. The lyrics, the music, the whole video performance was smooth like butter. I loved it!
I don't know too much about this new-fangled country music. I heard this recording on the radio and thought it was Ernest Tubb. I've been looking at every Tubb LP for the last 10 years, wondering why I couldn't find this song. I'm a little embarrassed because I buy and sell records. I'm gonna look into this Junior Brown!
I saw Jr. in concert. It was so fun. After the concert we got to meet him. A young boy was in front of us. It was obvious he was sick. Jr. Brown was overwhelmed that he wanted his autograph and sighed his hat than took a picture. Such a nice man. One of the best ever.
It's good to see you baby it's been a long long while We're both a whole lot older and seen a lot of miles But thing are different now since the good ol days And youve been in some trouble Since we went our separate ways Well have to say hello maybe some other time instead Cause youre wanted by the police And my wife thinks youre dead. Somebody spread the rumor that you had lost your life Least thats the way I heard it and what I told my wife Now here youre showing up again and talk is getting round And I can see that one of us will have to leave this town If you think that I want trouble Than youre crazy in your head Cause youre wanted by the police And my wife thinks youre dead. You never called or wrote me just up and disappeared Nobody knew what happened Where you been for all these years Now troubles what youre lookin like Cause troubles where you been And I can see the kind of trouble you could get me in You better pay attention to every word I said Cause youre wanted by the police And my wife thinks youre dead. So goodbye to you baby Im glad weve got to talk But Im faithful to my wife and I dont ever break the law I dont know where youre headed for But I know where you been Were reminisced now lets just go our separate ways again Go find another ex-sweetheart to hang around instead Because youre wanted by the police And my wife thinks youre dead.
I used to listen to KUT driving home after working afternoons. They had a program called 'Texas Radio' on Sundays evenings and that's the first time I heard this song, still a favorite......
Saw Junior just last night at a small club in Ma. What a great show! He almost plucked the strings off of that guit-steel he plays! He broke hs pick, threw it in the audience, then grabbed another & kept right on playing. Worth the money to see this guy in person if you get the chance.
219 dislikes, some people don't appreciate good music. I just bought the Chartbuster karaoke disc and this song is on it. Now I have a new song to cover.
I came here after a jam session where one of the guys pulled this song out, did a real nice job of it and we all kind of tagged along. Great song. Fun to jam to. Awesome video.
So I stumbled on this artist on you tbe playing what he called Surf Medley, it started with a bassy tune I remembered as Pipeline taught to me by my bandleader and teacher, Mr. Marlin in the late 1960s. It was our intro and exit between sets, I had never heard it anywhere else before, it ended with Secret Aggent Man, which I think was by the same guy who wrote 8 miles high, Johnny something, now I find he has great songs from the 90s. What the f
Years ago I was lucky enough to get to play with Junior at a small festival. I will always say it was honestly one of my most favorite things I've ever gotten to do. He was very nice and polite to talk with. And yes I was very intimidated with my level of guitar playing compared to his.
@@stealzero I always thought I was a good guitar player. never once had any issues where I didn't feel like I was on top of my game. When Junior started playing I felt like I was just beginning to learn to play. I even went back to checking my finger placement chord wise. I was that so damn worried I was going to mess up. He was cool and told me "Good job man!" I bout nearly had a heart attack.
acctualy I think he's is awsome, on his style, we cant say 'better of all' or 'best of world' cause each musician has his own style, all kind of expressions like that can sound a little confusing and some time can be unfair to other musicians, they're all good, not bad not better, each musician has his inspiration like I sayd. Love Junior brown style
Haven't read all the other comments but I just gotta say that whoever directed this must have a deep knowledge/appreciation for the silent era...KUDOS on an excellent job! There are so many subtle (and accurate) bits of business that are clearly of this genre. Am astounded at Junior's funny antics and he somewhat reminds me of Buster Keaton in some mannerisms and wardrobe. Thoroughly enjoyable song AND video!
