I like junk journals for a place to be creative, and to have a place to store all the bits & pieces that we used to keep in scrapbooks before "scrapbooking" became so commercial with their pre-made (non-personal) ephemera. I have a letter from my mother, and grandmother. A poem I wrote is there and lots of quotes I'd written down & stuck in drawers. If I didn't make it, cut it out, find it, or was given, I don't use it. I try to journal about memories that are unique instead of filling up pages with printables of another person's art. These are my suggestions for creating a personal journal to be kept to be passed down.
I love that! I guess I make journals as a base for people who aren't so creatively minded to make one into their own, adding their important memories and moments, and even removing the bits I have filled to replace with more meaningful items to them. Some people like to collect these journals like collecting art too. If I was making one for myself (which I will one day) it will definitely be more like the ones you make 😊. Art is my mindfulness, I am a teacher at a College by day, and making these helps me wind down ❤
Such a beautiful balance of vintage, nature and yet, you've left lots of space to write in it, which I love! I'm fairly new at this too and I don't like a lot of the creations I see because they don't use this balancing act. You've done a great job on this journal and I know exactly how you feel about selling it! I've kept my 'practice' ones that I started my journal journey making and I've been filling them with daily enlightenments and thoughts. They are becoming even more beautiful with this personal touch and also are wonderful to hold read and love over and over again!
Wow, if this is only your third journal, we’ll done! Great that you put in some of your own artwork. You could do a tutorial on using a steam iron to eco dye and to show that new kind of closure that you had to figure out 😉

Aw thank you! I will try make one on the faux eco printing. The real eco print8ng is just by following a tutorial already on RU-vid, the only difference is that I didn't have any rusty objects to use, so I left that part out. I believe that's why there's no blacks and only greens and yellows 😊

Beautiful Journal. I thought this was a really old video at 480p and slightly fuzzy, but it's only 3 weeks old. I was trying to get a better look at some of the textures but it's not possible. Of course this is the only video of yours I've seen, so this could be a one off. Anyway, the journal is absolutely gorgeous.

This came out so beautiful! I’m new at this too so I am going to subscribe and watch you grow. Since it’s amazing already that should be fun. Love that closure! It’s the first time I’ve seen that. So the back of the journal where you put all the little goodies, the envelopes that were with a clear window, did they come like tha or did you make them using junk mail or something or did you make them from scratch? They came out adorable and I for one would love a tutorial even if it’s simple❤
