I had the same issue I put new tensioner and it still jump timing when I checked better the timing chain guides where worn out, changed all that and it was better
I’ve been having a problem with my fuel pump not turning on I tried everything even switching the main relay... do I have to re program my ECUs just like you did ?? Please help car has been sitting for almost 4yrs
It is a bummer the issues you faced with the wiring. That is a huge headache. The engine in the other hand, was cheap and junkyard is always a hit and miss. Keep it up man.
Try putting to tdc and put a new tensioner. I had a motor from the junk yard do that. I just threw a new tensioner and it worked fine it had no bend valves.
so the timing is off, soooo zero compression but is there some damage? should run again with valves changed?? just out of curiosity did anybody re-time it to see what compression numbers if any would come out???
I checked the video 18th juli 2018 guess this is the k24a4 longblock from the red one.. airbags deployed no front or rear wrecks visible so why did they deploy? Keep up the good work love the content and explanations really useful!
I don't like Wicked1, I prefer Blacktrak which is right down the street. I took my RSX there for a dyno session last year, after it was done I hooked up the laptop to monitor stuff on my drive home and found the AFR's way to rich. They had my AFR in the mid 11's at WOT and was super rich in other areas plus they never tuned the low cam maps on the dyno. Had to lean it out myself to about 12.9 - 13.20 at WOT and basically street tune it myself so glad the RSX has a factory wideband , i will never go there again for a tune. If your in the bay area Blacktrak's is the best performance shop.

Research relative compression. Way eaiser to do than pressure test. Can have great idea of engine health in about 5 min if you have everything setup to do it.
Lol, a buddy of mines had an engine tick on his vr4, and he was done. Didn't even want to think about diagnosing it, just sold it as is. VR4's are gnarly cars but troubleshooting them becomes a nightmare
You have a HMO out there? Honda Motor Outlet, have them here in CA, 50k motors direct from Japan. Maybe they could ship out to you in a situation like this. Keep up the great work!
I kinda had a feeling that this was gonna happen, but I didn't post anything in the previous videos, because I didn't want to jinx it for ya. Tell Chuy to do the Frankenhead and get a new tensioner. Problem solved.
Someone screwed up. It looks like both connectors are pinned identically instead of mirrored, so they don't match up when male & female are connected. Gotta re-pin.

Roll the dice at the junkyard, or buy checked motors from hmo.... sometimes you have to understand that cars go to the scrap yard for a reason. No hate at all, just mpo. Good luck to everyone with there swaps or builds!
FYI Chrome & S300 are the same thing just S300 Standalone ECU & is backed by Hondata witch is a Name & Chrome is a Chip based software Pros use to Burn & Render diffrent maps on a Chip Cheap but Very Effective... #Prefrence up to you but both are exctly the same 1 is $$$ the other is not so much.. 💯😪✌
