Jason dude you should get into building race cars, you definitely have the skills and knowledge and you would quadruple your subscriber base. Just a thought.
Like building other people's race cars? If someone was willing to pay what I'm worth and work with me on a timeline, I would love to. I'm going to do more racing myself and get to more events this year to try to actually show/test what I'm doing. I completely agree with you, I'm just trying to find the time to do it. Even to build my own race cars, it would be difficult for me to allocate some or all of my limited financial resources to something that I can't just hop in and drive whenever I feel like. My goal is to build my blue single cab into a pretty fast drag truck, but still keep it street driveable.
Thanks! I've done dozens like this when replacing pinion seals and never had a problem. Over 200 miles on it so far and no issues at all. Thanks for watching!
Honestly, you won't see much difference between 3.42 and 3.73, if you tow a trailer it'll certainly help get it moving, but there won't be much difference anywhere else, at least not that you can feel. What are your plans with the truck? If it's not a daily or you don't mind a little extra fuel, it would be worth a bigger jump to gain some performance. If you're just looking for a cruiser I would stick with the 3.42.
I'm trying to find a happy medium of showing me working and just telling what I did. If i try to show me doing everything I end up with 16 hours of footage. It takes too long to edit and gets really boring.
@@MohawkMotors I get it maybe just show the parts where you run into difficulties. I know that editing is a bitch and you don’t have anyone to help you so I take back my earlier comment. Just do the best you can. You have a ton of knowledge that you share with us and I’m so grateful. So just keep on keeping on. But I still stand behind my statement that you should build race cars if not for yourself but for others your sub base would go through the roof. Just one assholes opinion. Love your channel. @@MohawkMotors not Shure I don't have a tool to scan the abs. It's lights comes on after a little bit of driving. My guess ( just a guess) is the pressure difference between the drums and discs makes the system not Happy.
@leviwoodring6101 ohhhhhhhhh. Did you change the gear ratio in the computer like I did? If you didn't, the computer is triggering those lights. It's angry because the rpm of the output shaft, is not corresponding to the vehicle speed it's expecting, so it thinks there's something wrong, probably wheel speed sensors.
@@MohawkMotors that could be it.( I'm working on getting Hp tuners) I just know my speedo is 10 mph slow.. I didn't think it would matter because of the 5 speed.
Yeah I'd bet that's what it is, the computer still reads output speed of the transmission and wheel speed of the front wheels, so those numbers not matching what are in it's programming is making it mad.
I'm surprised that the .15 decrease didn't continue on to the 1/4 mile times. I guess GM really does a lot of torque management in 3rd gear. Still a really worthwhile change especially considering future mods.
Yea I would have thought it would translate, .15 faster to the 8th, if the second half stayed the same it would still mean .15 faster over all, but I think the torque limiting in 3rd and 4th gear and the TCC locking up a little earlier in the run (since it got up to 55mph sooner) actually slowed it down a little in the second half. Like you said though, still totally worthwhile, and will absolutely see the gains after some transmission modifications, tuning, and power adder.
