Hello everyone, in this video I am trying to get a Jura A1 working again. This device has been used very intensively in recent years, but has never been decalcified or cleaned on the inside. Using the machine with a water filter without descaling in between will inevitably lead to clogging of the lines. The result is an error message that can be seen in this video. To prevent this, I recommend that all users of the fully automatic coffee machines descale at regular intervals, depending on the water quality.

I love to fix things and also love coffee. Watching your restoration/ repair videos not only impart a good insight on how to disassemble, fix, & assemble back things but it is also kind of therapeutic to me. Wish I could procure those good things you use to salvage old parts here where I live. Love your videos. Beautiful! thanks

Thank you so much for this. I would have had to pay a fortune to clean/refurb my brew group if it weren't for this video. Took me quite a while to do it, but it went back together and the coffee is perfect. Now I have the skills to keep this going for years. This should be a template for how repair videos are done. It has the perfect amount of detail and it is super relaxing to watch it all happen. When I put it back together I intentionally broke the two tabs on the side panel and didn't replace the security screw. Now it takes about 10 seconds to get the side panel off and everything looks fine assembled. This unit needs a rough cleaning every 3-6 months in my opinion, and the brew group at least once a year could use something like this.

Hello, breaking the tabs to make it easier to remove the cover is a great idea. Those are some of the obstacles intentionally built by Jura to prevent access to the inside of the machine. Good job!

I admit it, I've been very bad. Haven't replaced the filter, haven't descaled in years. That's what brings me here today. I'm pretty decent at electrical engineering type stuff, so I think I can pull it out of the grave. It's doing that "phantom coffee" thing where it cycles and sounds like it's all hunky dory. But no coffee comes out. (Rolls up sleeves) Thanks for posting this, it's going to be a big help.

I think your grinding burrs got rusted because you use oily coffee beans.try a medium roast of a bit darker if you like but with no oils. The get rancid and stick to metal and rust it. Maybe an other reason could be a faulty design on the machine that lets water vapor after the coffee is extracted to accumulate on the grinder cones. I have a Saeco and you see condensation form on the coffee shoot after making a coffee . You did an amazing job cleaning and restoring this machine!! Congratulations to you!! Great video

Rusted grinding stones ( blades) I already saw many times . Mainly on Krups or Delonghi aswell. I think there are three posibilities . 1) wrong coffee beans which contains a lot of water and oil 2) cleaning of container during maitenance with water 3) big humidity during stocking for example garage or somethink like that

There is another video using a rectangle metal block and tap the side panel with a mallet to remove it. After opening the panel, use flat head screw driver to break the 2 tabs at 2 corners (top and bottom corners on each panel closer to front, total 4 tabs) that hold the panels in place. After that it would be much easier to slide the panel open without much effort.

Then during reassambly at 13:33 we’re suddenly told about a ball bearing in the grinder that we have to be “careful not to lose”. A BIT LATE NOW! Does anyone know the size of ball bearing I need to order? I’ve searched through the hoover bag and everywhere else for it but no luck. (The outside grinder wheel no longer clicks as you turn it, and the machine just whirrs instead of grinding, so I assume the ball is really important. Sigh.) Thanks
@RuJewi
@RuJewi Год назад
This ball is not important for the proper operation of the grinder. It only clicks when the ring, which regulates the gap between the grindstones, is turned. You can take a soldering iron and make a small ball of solder. I also want to point out that this ring does not need to be removed at all. To remove the top grinder, you have to turn this ring counterclockwise until it stops. Then the holder of the upper grinder will disengage. It is not necessary to remove the ring. After replacing the bottom and top grinder, it goes back down again. Look at the factory markings with a marker pen. There are three: (1) on the holder of the upper grinder, (2) between the holder and the ring, and (3) on the ring. Align the marks of the upper grinder holder (1) and mark (2). Then turn the ring clockwise to align all the marks in one row.

My Jura Micro 90 keeps repeating "rinsing" and "press rotary" after starting. Can't find anything on the internet about how to fix. Any help? I find water in the tray after each rinse and the brew group is moving correctly.

Hello, I recommend taking a closer look at the flow meter (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZshqFMxdvCk.html), perhaps it is dirty inside and therefore not rotating properly. This means the machine cannot detect whether the water is flowing properly.
@goyalmusic
@goyalmusic Месяц назад
@@yt.myworks I found the cause. The flow meter is working well, so is the pump. It somehow ran one cycle of descaling and milk cleaning. It worked okay, but water flow was choppy. I tried to run it to rinse whil having the brew group taken out. There is only little bit of water flowing to the brew group. It makes me think that the membrane regulator could be a problem, or the outlet valve could be at fault. I've ordered spares for those two, and will replace them in a few days. Am I thinking right? Should I also already replace the water pump?

Hi, I have an interesting problem, I repaired a Jura Micro Ena 1, it had a rusty grinder like yours, when I reassembled it, now the grinder only runs for 2.5seconds instead of the 6-8seconds it should.. I have tested everything I possibly can, and scoured the internet but no luck. Made sure the grinder was running in the right direction and same thing happens with or without beans.. any ideas I can try?

@AlexB-yx5no 2 года назад
@@yt.myworks Thanks for the reply, when I got it was already broken, but I found a youtube video of the same machine, and the same settings, it ground the coffee for 6seconds.. I cant imagine what the problem is, there is no error indication on the machine, same as the guy below, the coffee that comes out is undrinkable because there simply isn't enough coffee in the brew group. I know Saecos have an encoder on the grinder, but this Jura doesn't. I wish there was some sort of diagnostic menu like other machines, where everything could be tested. Another thing is that every grind is exactly 2.5 seconds, changing the cup size or coffee strength doesn't change the time..

@@jeffbonsall422 It only means that the brew group is not assembled correctly or screwed to the machine incorrectly. If the gears don't fit together properly then the machine will make loud noises. @myworks Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my problem. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help. I'm happy to donate to your PayPal account. I will give you more detail around the issue. I've removed the brew group and stripped it down and cleaned it. Everything turns and moves freely. The issue of the drive gear driving constantly was still there. I wound the brew group assembly to the bottom. The drive gear drove the brew group back to its home position perfectly, but it doesn't stop driving. I'd like to know what gives the signal that it's in its home position. All components are intact and in place. Your reassemble video perfectly details all the components to replace. Is there a datum point on the motor? I can't see anything on the brew group that would give a home position signal. Is there a reset on the machine. As soon as I press the power button, the brew group drives. I would hope there's a function where I can do a master reset. Thanks Jeff

Yes, there is a so-called "ENCODER" on the motor that tells the machine how far the brewing group should turn: www.juraprofi.de/Jura-Ersatzteile/Antrieb/Encoder-fuer-Jura-Kaffeevollautomaten::2653.html

Its an excellent video about cleaning.....but I don't think you figured out why the machine has this fault....so the problem isn't solved, and will keep happening in the future. I have been testing mine over a few months and my hypothesis is that the grinder is accepting too many beans and making the pucks too big. The pump cannot push water through these large pucks and a breaker is engaged. Before doing all this disassembly, try starting from an empty hopper and adding only one level jura scoop of beans (limiting the amount it would normally accept). Many people are describing this fault as 'clogged', but it is not clogged at all....it is just underpowered by design?
