Perhaps the most beautiful voice of all the major tenors of the Golden Age. Always a pleasure to hear him sing. However, not really his fach. Bjorling was certainly a lyric rather then a dramatic tenor. Not taking away anything from this version, which is wonderfully sung. Just glad he didn't sing heavier roles then his voice was best suited too often. Unfortunately, other great tenors shortened their careers by singing the wrong roles. His singing of the French operas and lighter Italian ones has rarely been surpassed.
