I ask because the main reason I've heard about this case is the various stories popping up in my Facebook feed with the majority of comments saying: "If he did this, he should go to jail" and "his career is over if he faked this". That doesn't sound like people who don't care. I'm sure that people are angry for a variety of reasons but there's no way you can state that it's a FACT that noone cares about the negative stereotyping.

If that were true 1.) the police wouldn't have bothered to investigate, 2.) the media wouldn't have reported step-by-step on the catalogue of inconsistencies being revealed by the investigation, and 3.) there wouldn't have been thousands upon thousands of outraged comments on social media castigating Smollet for his alleged actions. All of that disproved your original argument. I agree that it shouldn't have been a huge story (although, let's be honest, if it hadn't been this big, do you imagine people would now be largely aware of it?) - but that's because I prefer trial by legal system and not trial by media. If you've going to complain about bias, you're going to spend a lot of your life angry. Bias is everywhere and it works on both sides so I wouldn't complain too loudly about it, given the track record of this current Administration and the number of proven criminals it has so far yielded.

I found the lack of real damage to be the first clue. A real assault would have left more bruising, lacerations, and potentially broken bones if not soft tissue damage. Not to mention blench discolors and is corrosive. He claims that he was beaten, and was booted in the back before being blenched and given a new tie. In my experience, half of what he was claiming would have left a lot more marks then what he was presenting with.

In an interview he did just days after the "attack", he looks fine. No cuts or bruises. Great job, Jussie. Now the next time someone gets beaten up for real, nobody would buy it. Great job, loser.

Noah was ten when apartheid ended and in his own biography talks about always being around all races. He was the tuck shop guy in high school and everyone liked him. Money was never a problem for the Noah family. He would visit his granny in Soweto. The first few years of Noah's life were awkward for his Parents because for a very short while integrated relationships were illegal, but the real issue was Trevors mother never wanted a relationship with Trevors father. Trevor never ever knew what it was like to be poor. The story of his mother not holding his hand is suspicious because there were many different complexion's in skin colour in the Xhosa community and nobody would've bothered. The part that is true is his father for a very short time in Trevor's life couldn't be seen as his father. Although there were many White families that adopted black children. My family was one. My Parents fostered many abandoned babies. I grew up with babies of all races and Im 53 now. By the mid 80s nobody cared much who you were seen with.
