Those not suck if your running a long leader,catches on the eyes as the line passes through them and if your lure fishing you're casting alot so it wares the not pretty quick and can effect your casting distance.FG knot is the best for leader to mainline knots low profile and strong.

I worked for 17 years as a professional sport-fisherman in Miami. That is the uni-knot! The best knot for fishing...it will NOT SLIP! Long-liners also use it. It is simple and fast to make and the tag end can be cut right up to the knot so it does not pick up a bunch of seaweed. It does not make bubbles while trolling. It is the best, easiest knot, period!.

I love this knot, I have used it for many years, but I would not pull it tight without moistening it in my mouth as it can damage mono if this is not done. Tight lines everyone.
this knot is by far the easiest and best knot hands down. I mean it literally takes 30 seconds to tie and for the time people waste tying complicated knots wasting time on the boat and I've never had it come loose or break cuz the tie great video man

The last clip is him tying his wife with this knot because she wont let him fish. When I got married I tied the knot with this technique. I saved so many trips to the mechanic with this knot. It's a life saver! You already know how this guy ties his shoe.
I use the same knot (with several names : 5 turns knot, grinner knot, uni knot, ...) with confidence since years. PS 1 : your knot at 5:49 is made on the wrong side of the hooks plate ! PS 2 wet your knots before tightening them.
I have used the blood knot for many years to connect two lines together, but this looks much simpler and probably just as strong, going to try this in the same applications as you did. Thanks for the video.

Одно,но очень важное -- при затягивании узлов,неважно каких,нужно их смачивать,хотя бы слюной -- т.к. при затягивании витки узла очень сильно разогреваются,хотя этого и не заметно и ослабляют леску...

Ça s'appel juste le "nœud universel", il est sur ma chaîne depuis des années, Il est simple et fait son boulot mais c'est l'un des moins résistant qui existe. Je conseil fortement de faire 2 tours dans l’œillet et le nœud sera grandement amélioré !

Been using this knot (it’s called a Uni Knot) for 40 years and it really can do it all BUT 5-6 wraps with braid will not hold. Do 8 to 10 wraps with braid and even run it through the eye twice. Always wet before clinching down tight. Super heavy mono like 80+ works better with about 4 wraps. The one exception I would make is to learn an improved Albright, FG or GT for braid to a heavy fluorocarbon leader if your a saltwater guy. I literally use this knot camping, tying things down in the truck almost everything. Learn this one knot, it’s so simple and it will cover most everything, but if you really want to call yourself an Angler, you need to know a couple more for specific situations. Plus learning knots is fun. Try a Bimini Twist!

The only knot I use. I do sometimes go thru the eye of the hook/lure/swivel, etc. a 2nd time for extra peace of mind but after watching this I may just skip that 2nd pass. Great video! Tight-Lines!!!

Palomar is the only way to go when attaching terminal tackle with braided line especially power pro braid. It's very slippery and any type of clinch knot will result in losing your artificial bait and fish
The same when knotting to a swivel. With monofilament, 3-5 turns are enough. Braided line requires 8-10 turns. With thin line more turns than with thick line.
I used to used many kinds of knots but none of them is as strong and easy as Uni knot. For 80 lb mono and smaller diameter, Uni knot is easy to do with 4-6 wraps that can develop the line strength. But when I try to join 100 lb mono and bigger lines, lots of lubricant, i.e. water, oil, saliva, etc. and a pair of needle nose pliers is needed.
