...I like to imagine this is a kind of hidden ending where Akira manages to somehow reset the timeline, and does so in a way that the story of Persona 5 as we know it is completely rewritten. Makes me wonder what would be the impetus for the creation of the Phantom Thieves in this timeline though...

Well, You could say they met up by pure “coincidence”. Since, Ren/Akira reset the timeline, he could make it so they ran into each other by accident, and made it so they all became friends. He still could have the meta-nav so he could change people’s hearts. And since he beat Yaldabaoth, couldn’t he go through the same palaces all over again, but Alone? Just, Not tell the others.

This could actually happen in P5 *Spoilers for P5R 3rd Semester* Akechi changed to Shujin in the Dream ending, people say that Akechi and Joker are wild cards and might still know about their other reality. This is another possibility that Akechi and Joker starts losing their mermories about the other reality but in dreams, Joker see visions of their past self they are forgetting.

Okay for a moment I thought it was a crossover of P5 and KH because I thought it was Vanitas only to see it was Goro, I guess is because Goro's outfit looks like Vanitas's armor when the helmet gets cracked open. Great Job as always!

If you think about it, wouldn't it technically be a "dream ending" since the main character was able to stop the entirety of Persona 5 from happening? Like the whole mess with Akechi and Shido wouldn't have happened.

yes it was all a bad dream, do not believe ATLUS, they just want to make us believe Akechi commit die. after the end credits in royal we see Akechi, he's alive, they just made us think he die. [ps we need ATLUS to let us date the guys, all of the most favorite ships are with the guys, if not we do it OURSELFS. ATLUS NEEDS TO COMMIT GAY] sorry for this long comment.
